Also mediates heterophilic cell-cell adhesion with CADM3 and NECTIN3 in a Ca(2+)-independent manner. Acts as a tumor suppressor in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. Interaction with CRTAM promotes natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxicity and interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) secretion by CD8+ cells in vitro as well as NK cell-mediated rejection of tumors expressing CADM3 in vivo. May contribute to the less invasive phenotypes of lepidic growth tumor cells. In mast cells, may mediate attachment to and promote communication with nerves. CADM1, together with MITF, is essential for development and survival of mast cells in vivo. Acts as a synaptic cell adhesion molecule and plays a role in the formation of dendritic spines and in synapse assembly (By similarity). May be involved in neuronal migration, axon growth, pathfinding, and fasciculation on the axons of differentiating neurons. May play diverse roles in the spermatogenesis including in the adhesion of spermatocytes and spermatids to Sertoli cells and for their normal differentiation into mature spermatozoa. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11279526, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12050160, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12234973, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12920246, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15811952, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15905536, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22438059}. |ig| |V-set| |I-set| |C2-set 2| |activated T cell proliferation| |susceptibility to natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity| |T cell mediated cytotoxicity| |positive regulation of natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity| |positive regulation of natural killer cell mediated immunity| |T cell proliferation| |leukocyte mediated cytotoxicity| |T cell mediated immunity| |regulation of natural killer cell mediated cytotoxicity| |regulation of natural killer cell mediated immunity| |heterophilic cell-cell adhesion via plasma membrane cell adhesion molecules| |positive regulation of leukocyte mediated cytotoxicity| |positive regulation of cell killing| |regulation of leukocyte mediated cytotoxicity| |lymphocyte proliferation| |adherens junction organization| |mononuclear cell proliferation| |PDZ domain binding| |cell killing| |leukocyte proliferation| |regulation of cell killing| |positive regulation of lymphocyte mediated immunity| |positive regulation of leukocyte mediated immunity| |positive regulation of cytokine secretion| |regulation of lymphocyte mediated immunity| |homophilic cell adhesion via plasma membrane adhesion molecules| |cell-cell junction| |basolateral plasma membrane| |regulation of cytokine secretion| |regulation of leukocyte mediated immunity| |cell junction organization| |positive regulation of immune effector process| |T cell activation| |cell recognition| |cell-cell adhesion via plasma-membrane adhesion molecules| |lymphocyte mediated immunity| |synapse| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |adaptive immune response based on somatic recombination of immune receptors built from immunoglobulin superfamily domains| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |signaling receptor binding| |positive regulation of innate immune response| |positive regulation of response to biotic stimulus| |lymphocyte activation| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |positive regulation of cytokine production| |regulation of innate immune response| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of immune effector process| |positive regulation of defense response| |regulation of peptide secretion| |cell-cell adhesion| |positive regulation of multi-organism process| |regulation of response to biotic stimulus| |spermatogenesis| |cell population proliferation| |male gamete generation| |positive regulation of response to external stimulus| |adaptive immune response| |detection of stimulus| |gamete generation| |regulation of cytokine production| |viral process| |regulation of protein transport| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of defense response| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |regulation of multi-organism process| |symbiotic process| |regulation of secretion| |interspecies interaction between organisms| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |positive regulation of immune response| |protein homodimerization activity| |apoptotic process| |leukocyte activation| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |positive regulation of transport| |multi-organism reproductive process| |regulation of protein localization| |programmed cell death| |cell activation| |cell death| |immune effector process| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |positive regulation of immune system process| |regulation of immune response| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |regulation of response to stress| |regulation of immune system process| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of transport| |immune response| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
