This receptor shows high affinity for corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH), and also binds CRH-related peptides such as urocortin. CRH is synthesized in the hypothalamus, and plays an important role in coordinating the endocrine, autonomic, and behavioral responses to stress and immune challenge. Studies in mice suggest that this receptor maybe involved in mediating cardiovascular homeostasis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Jan 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: N/A |7tm 2| |HRM| |corticotropin-releasing hormone receptor activity| |corticotrophin-releasing factor receptor activity| |cellular response to corticotropin-releasing hormone stimulus| |response to corticotropin-releasing hormone| |peptide hormone binding| |long-term synaptic potentiation| |axon terminus| |positive regulation of synaptic transmission| |hormone-mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of synaptic plasticity| |adenylate cyclase-modulating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger| |cellular response to peptide hormone stimulus| |axon| |cellular response to peptide| |response to peptide hormone| |dendrite| |modulation of chemical synaptic transmission| |regulation of trans-synaptic signaling| |response to peptide| |cellular response to organonitrogen compound| |cellular response to hormone stimulus| |cellular response to nitrogen compound| |response to hormone| |response to organonitrogen compound| |cellular response to oxygen-containing compound| |response to nitrogen compound| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |integral component of plasma membrane| |response to endogenous stimulus| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |NFN1 1μM R03 exp100|-1.88| |HMS-I2 10μM R06 exp288|-1.79| |CR131-b 0.005μM R08 exp474|-1.72| |DABN racemic mixture R03 exp93|1.72| |Dimethyloxaloylglycine 100μM R05 exp229|2.1| |Nocodazole 0.2μM R00 exp24|2.33| |Nocodazole 0.1μM R03 exp94|2.35| ^Gene^Correlation^ |HGC6.3|0.513| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 3600 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: -0.8
