This family is comprised of serine/threonine kinases that phosphorylate acidic proteins such as caseins. The encoded kinase plays a role in cell cycle checkpoint arrest in response to stalled replication forks by phosphorylating Claspin. A mutation in this gene may be associated with non-syndromic early-onset epilepsy (NSEOE). [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: Serine/threonine-protein kinase. Casein kinases are operationally defined by their preferential utilization of acidic proteins such as caseins as substrates. It can phosphorylate a large number of proteins. Participates in Wnt signaling. Regulates fast synaptic transmission mediated by glutamate (By similarity). Phosphorylates CLSPN. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:21680713}. |CK1gamma C| |Pkinase Tyr| |Pkinase| |peptidyl-threonine phosphorylation| |peptidyl-threonine modification| |positive regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway| |peptidyl-serine phosphorylation| |positive regulation of Wnt signaling pathway| |peptidyl-serine modification| |regulation of canonical Wnt signaling pathway| |Wnt signaling pathway| |cell-cell signaling by wnt| |regulation of Wnt signaling pathway| |protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |cell surface receptor signaling pathway involved in cell-cell signaling| |endocytosis| |import into cell| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |protein phosphorylation| |cell-cell signaling| |phosphorylation| |ATP binding| |positive regulation of signal transduction| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp228|Demecolcine 0.03μM R05 exp228]]|-2.11| |[[:results:exp215|Colchicine 0.009μM R05 exp215]]|-2.08| |[[:results:exp29|Rapamycin 1μM R00 exp29]]|-1.96| |[[:results:exp447|Amiloride 100μM R08 exp447]]|-1.72| |[[:results:exp501|Methotrexate 0.01μM R08 exp501]]|-1.7| |[[:results:exp535|Trimetrexate 0.03μM R08 exp535]]|1.76| |[[:results:exp256|HMS-I1 10μM R06 exp256]]|1.92| |[[:results:exp68|Clomiphene 4.4μM R02 exp68]]|2| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
