Members of the Dlx gene family contain a homeobox that is related to that of Distal-less (Dll), a gene expressed in the head and limbs of the developing fruit fly. The Distal-less (Dlx) family of genes comprises at least 6 different members, DLX1-DLX6. Trichodentoosseous syndrome (TDO), an autosomal dominant condition, has been correlated with DLX3 gene mutation. This gene is located in a tail-to-tail configuration with another member of the gene family on the long arm of chromosome 17. Mutations in this gene have been associated with the autosomal dominant conditions trichodentoosseous syndrome and amelogenesis imperfecta with taurodontism. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Likely to play a regulatory role in the development of the ventral forebrain. May play a role in craniofacial patterning and morphogenesis. |DLL N| |Homeobox| |odontoblast differentiation| |neuroepithelial cell differentiation| |odontogenesis of dentin-containing tooth| |columnar/cuboidal epithelial cell differentiation| |odontogenesis| |placenta development| |chromatin binding| |sequence-specific DNA binding| |reproductive structure development| |reproductive system development| |DNA-binding transcription activator activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |blood vessel development| |RNA polymerase II proximal promoter sequence-specific DNA binding| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |epithelial cell differentiation| |circulatory system development| |animal organ morphogenesis| |epithelium development| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |DNA binding| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |tissue development| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp515|PU-H71 1μM R08 exp515]]|-1.99| |[[:results:exp54|Taxol 0.002μM R01 exp54]]|-1.97| |[[:results:exp45|Docetaxel 0.002μM R01 exp45]]|-1.95| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
