The F-box proteins constitute one of the four subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex called SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. The F-box proteins are divided into 3 classes: Fbws containing WD-40 domains, Fbls containing leucine-rich repeats, and Fbxs containing either different protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Fbxs class and it contains an F-box domain. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2013]. * **UniProt Summary**: Substrate-recognition component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F- box protein)-type E3 ubiquitin ligase complex. Able to recognize and bind denatured glycoproteins, which are modified with complex- type oligosaccharides. Also recognizes sulfated glycans. Does not bind high-mannose glycoproteins. |FBA| |F-box-like| |F-box| |glycoprotein catabolic process| |SCF ubiquitin ligase complex| |ubiquitin-dependent ERAD pathway| |ERAD pathway| |SCF-dependent proteasomal ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative catabolic process| |ubiquitin protein ligase activity| |response to endoplasmic reticulum stress| |protein polyubiquitination| |proteasome-mediated ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process| |proteasomal protein catabolic process| |post-translational protein modification| |glycoprotein metabolic process| |ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolic process| |modification-dependent protein catabolic process| |modification-dependent macromolecule catabolic process| |proteolysis involved in cellular protein catabolic process| |cellular protein catabolic process| |protein catabolic process| |protein ubiquitination| |protein modification by small protein conjugation| |cellular macromolecule catabolic process| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |response to organonitrogen compound| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |macromolecule catabolic process| |organonitrogen compound catabolic process| |response to nitrogen compound| |proteolysis| |cellular response to stress| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp445|∆-9-Tetrahydrocannabinol 30μM R08 exp445]]|1.7| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
