This gene is a member of the NODC/HAS gene family. Compared to the proteins encoded by other members of this gene family, this protein appears to be more of a regulator of hyaluronan synthesis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2010]. * **UniProt Summary**: Catalyzes the addition of GlcNAc or GlcUA monosaccharides to the nascent hyaluronan polymer. Therefore, it is essential to hyaluronan synthesis a major component of most extracellular matrices that has a structural role in tissues architectures and regulates cell adhesion, migration and differentiation. This is one of the isozymes catalyzing that reaction (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |Chitin synth 2| |hyaluranon cable| |regulation of hyaluranon cable assembly| |extracellular polysaccharide metabolic process| |extracellular polysaccharide biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of hyaluranon cable assembly| |hyaluronan synthase activity| |hyaluronan biosynthetic process| |extracellular matrix assembly| |hyaluronan metabolic process| |polysaccharide biosynthetic process| |cellular polysaccharide biosynthetic process| |cellular carbohydrate biosynthetic process| |cellular polysaccharide metabolic process| |polysaccharide metabolic process| |glycosaminoglycan biosynthetic process| |mucopolysaccharide metabolic process| |aminoglycan biosynthetic process| |carbohydrate biosynthetic process| |glycosaminoglycan metabolic process| |aminoglycan metabolic process| |cellular carbohydrate metabolic process| |carboxylic acid biosynthetic process| |organic acid biosynthetic process| |extracellular matrix organization| |extracellular structure organization| |carbohydrate metabolic process| |positive regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |small molecule biosynthetic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |oxoacid metabolic process| |organic acid metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |identical protein binding| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |integral component of plasma membrane| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
