The substrate-specific O-sulfation generates an enzyme-modified heparan sulfate which acts as a binding receptor to Herpes Simplex Virus-1 (HSV-1) and permits its entry. Unlike 3- OST-1, does not convert non-anticoagulant heparan sulfate to anticoagulant heparan sulfate. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15303968}. |Sulfotransfer 1| |[heparan sulfate]-glucosamine 3-sulfotransferase 1 activity| |heparan sulfate sulfotransferase activity| |organism emergence from protective structure| |hatching| |blastocyst hatching| |heparan sulfate proteoglycan biosynthetic process| |heparan sulfate proteoglycan metabolic process| |proteoglycan biosynthetic process| |proteoglycan metabolic process| |blastocyst development| |glycosaminoglycan biosynthetic process| |aminoglycan biosynthetic process| |glycosaminoglycan metabolic process| |aminoglycan metabolic process| |glycoprotein biosynthetic process| |in utero embryonic development| |glycoprotein metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |Golgi membrane| |chordate embryonic development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |embryo development| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp83|Trametinib 10μM R02 exp83]]|1.7| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
