The protein encoded by this gene contains 9 'Armadillo' repeats and interacts with the smg GDS protein through these repeats. This protein, which is highly concentrated around the endoplasmic reticulum, is phosphorylated by v-src, and this phosphorylation reduces the affinity of the protein for smg GDS. It is thought that this protein serves as a linker between human chromosome-associated polypeptide (HCAP) and KIF3A/B, a kinesin superfamily protein in the nucleus, and that it plays a role in the interaction of chromosomes with an ATPase motor protein. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: Involved in tethering the chromosomes to the spindle pole and in chromosome movement. Binds to the tail domain of the KIF3A/KIF3B heterodimer to form a heterotrimeric KIF3 complex and may regulate the membrane binding of this complex (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |KAP| |positive regulation of calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion| |regulation of calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion| |kinesin II complex| |intraciliary transport particle B binding| |periciliary membrane compartment| |plus-end-directed vesicle transport along microtubule| |plus-end-directed organelle transport along microtubule| |condensed nuclear chromosome| |spindle microtubule| |photoreceptor connecting cilium| |intraciliary transport involved in cilium assembly| |kinesin binding| |vesicle transport along microtubule| |ciliary tip| |vesicle cytoskeletal trafficking| |intraciliary transport| |protein transport along microtubule| |microtubule-based protein transport| |organelle transport along microtubule| |retrograde vesicle-mediated transport, Golgi to endoplasmic reticulum| |protein phosphatase binding| |antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II| |antigen processing and presentation of peptide or polysaccharide antigen via MHC class II| |antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen via MHC class II| |axoneme| |ciliary basal body| |microtubule cytoskeleton| |transport along microtubule| |establishment of vesicle localization| |cytoskeleton-dependent intracellular transport| |antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen| |microtubule-based transport| |antigen processing and presentation of exogenous antigen| |vesicle localization| |antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen| |cilium| |antigen processing and presentation| |positive regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |protein-containing complex localization| |microtubule-based movement| |cilium assembly| |establishment of organelle localization| |cilium organization| |Golgi vesicle transport| |regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |positive regulation of cell adhesion| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection assembly| |cell projection assembly| |centrosome| |organelle localization| |microtubule-based process| |negative regulation of cell population proliferation| |regulation of cell adhesion| |organelle assembly| |negative regulation of apoptotic process| |negative regulation of programmed cell death| |Golgi apparatus| |negative regulation of cell death| |intracellular protein transport| |endoplasmic reticulum| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |regulation of apoptotic process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |protein-containing complex assembly| |regulation of programmed cell death| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |regulation of cell death| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
