Laminins, a family of extracellular matrix glycoproteins, are the major noncollagenous constituent of basement membranes. They have been implicated in a wide variety of biological processes including cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth and metastasis. Laminins are composed of 3 non identical chains: laminin alpha, beta and gamma (formerly A, B1, and B2, respectively) and they form a cruciform structure consisting of 3 short arms, each formed by a different chain, and a long arm composed of all 3 chains. Each laminin chain is a multidomain protein encoded by a distinct gene. The protein encoded by this gene is the alpha-5 subunit of of laminin-10 (laminin-511), laminin-11 (laminin-521) and laminin-15 (laminin-523). [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]. * **UniProt Summary**: Binding to cells via a high affinity receptor, laminin is thought to mediate the attachment, migration and organization of cells into tissues during embryonic development by interacting with other extracellular matrix components. |Laminin I| |Laminin G 1| |Laminin N| |Laminin II| |Laminin G 2| |Laminin B| |Laminin EGF| |laminin-10 complex| |laminin-11 complex| |laminin-5 complex| |synaptic cleft| |branching involved in salivary gland morphogenesis| |cell-substrate adherens junction assembly| |focal adhesion assembly| |salivary gland morphogenesis| |salivary gland development| |adherens junction assembly| |cell-substrate junction assembly| |morphogenesis of a polarized epithelium| |exocrine system development| |branching involved in ureteric bud morphogenesis| |substrate adhesion-dependent cell spreading| |ureteric bud morphogenesis| |mesonephric tubule morphogenesis| |neural crest cell migration| |nephron tubule morphogenesis| |nephron epithelium morphogenesis| |nephron morphogenesis| |renal tubule morphogenesis| |hair follicle development| |skin epidermis development| |molting cycle process| |hair cycle process| |neuromuscular junction| |nephron tubule development| |neural crest cell development| |renal tubule development| |odontogenesis of dentin-containing tooth| |endothelial cell differentiation| |mesenchymal cell development| |stem cell development| |adherens junction organization| |kidney morphogenesis| |ureteric bud development| |mesonephric tubule development| |mesonephric epithelium development| |basement membrane| |neural crest cell differentiation| |mesonephros development| |molting cycle| |hair cycle| |integrin-mediated signaling pathway| |endothelium development| |nephron epithelium development| |gland morphogenesis| |odontogenesis| |nephron development| |cell-matrix adhesion| |regulation of embryonic development| |kidney epithelium development| |branching morphogenesis of an epithelial tube| |integrin binding| |extracellular matrix structural constituent| |morphogenesis of embryonic epithelium| |mesenchymal cell differentiation| |stem cell differentiation| |morphogenesis of a branching epithelium| |cell junction assembly| |morphogenesis of a branching structure| |lung development| |ameboidal-type cell migration| |respiratory tube development| |protein localization to plasma membrane| |cell-substrate adhesion| |respiratory system development| |cell junction organization| |mesenchyme development| |protein localization to cell periphery| |cell recognition| |kidney development| |renal system development| |muscle organ development| |epithelial tube morphogenesis| |angiogenesis| |urogenital system development| |extracellular matrix organization| |cilium assembly| |collagen-containing extracellular matrix| |cilium organization| |skin development| |extracellular structure organization| |blood vessel morphogenesis| |gland development| |epidermis development| |morphogenesis of an epithelium| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection assembly| |cell projection assembly| |muscle structure development| |protein localization to membrane| |blood vessel development| |cell-cell adhesion| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |cell population proliferation| |cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |tissue morphogenesis| |embryonic morphogenesis| |tube morphogenesis| |cytokine-mediated signaling pathway| |epithelial cell differentiation| |regulation of cell adhesion| |cell morphogenesis| |organelle assembly| |cellular component morphogenesis| |tube development| |regulation of cell migration| |circulatory system development| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |regulation of cell motility| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |animal organ morphogenesis| |cell migration| |embryo development| |regulation of locomotion| |regulation of cellular component movement| |cellular response to cytokine stimulus| |cell motility| |localization of cell| |response to cytokine| |cytoskeleton organization| |epithelium development| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |locomotion| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |cellular protein localization| |extracellular space| |cellular macromolecule localization| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |cell development| |tissue development| |extracellular region| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
