This gene is found on chromosome 20 near NKX2-4, and these two genes appear to be duplicated on chromosome 14 in the form of TITF1 and NKX2-8. The encoded protein is likely to be a nuclear transcription factor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Acts as a transcriptional activator. Required for the maintenance of NEUROD1 expression in the horomone-producing endocrine cells of the pancreas. May be involved in specifying diencephalic neuromeric boundaries, and in controlling the expression of genes that play a role in axonal guidance. Associates with chromatin at the NEUROD1 promoter region. Binds to a subset of consensus elements within the NEUROD1 promoter (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |Homeobox| |type B pancreatic cell fate commitment| |ventral spinal cord interneuron fate determination| |cell fate determination involved in pattern specification| |pancreatic A cell fate commitment| |pancreatic PP cell fate commitment| |pancreatic PP cell differentiation| |spinal cord oligodendrocyte cell fate specification| |spinal cord oligodendrocyte cell differentiation| |glial cell fate specification| |oligodendrocyte cell fate commitment| |oligodendrocyte cell fate specification| |pancreatic A cell differentiation| |neuron fate determination| |optic nerve development| |type B pancreatic cell development| |glial cell fate commitment| |epithelial cell fate commitment| |cell fate commitment involved in pattern specification| |ventral spinal cord interneuron fate commitment| |ventral spinal cord interneuron differentiation| |glandular epithelial cell development| |type B pancreatic cell differentiation| |enteroendocrine cell differentiation| |spinal cord dorsal/ventral patterning| |positive regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation| |spinal cord patterning| |proximal promoter sequence-specific DNA binding| |neuron fate specification| |spinal cord motor neuron differentiation| |endocrine pancreas development| |glandular epithelial cell differentiation| |regulation of oligodendrocyte differentiation| |cell fate determination| |positive regulation of glial cell differentiation| |oligodendrocyte development| |response to progesterone| |ventral spinal cord development| |columnar/cuboidal epithelial cell development| |cranial nerve development| |astrocyte differentiation| |cell differentiation in spinal cord| |neuron fate commitment| |positive regulation of gliogenesis| |oligodendrocyte differentiation| |regulation of glial cell differentiation| |pancreas development| |smoothened signaling pathway| |nerve development| |dorsal/ventral pattern formation| |cell fate specification| |columnar/cuboidal epithelial cell differentiation| |glial cell development| |spinal cord development| |regulation of gliogenesis| |endocrine system development| |digestive tract development| |response to glucose| |digestive system development| |response to hexose| |response to monosaccharide| |glial cell differentiation| |response to carbohydrate| |central nervous system neuron differentiation| |epithelial cell development| |response to ketone| |gliogenesis| |negative regulation of neuron differentiation| |cell fate commitment| |positive regulation of DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |transcription coactivator activity| |negative regulation of neurogenesis| |negative regulation of nervous system development| |response to steroid hormone| |transcription factor binding| |regionalization| |negative regulation of cell development| |positive regulation of neuron differentiation| |chromatin binding| |sequence-specific DNA binding| |regulation of DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |pattern specification process| |positive regulation of neurogenesis| |RNA polymerase II proximal promoter sequence-specific DNA binding| |positive regulation of nervous system development| |positive regulation of cell development| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |epithelial cell differentiation| |negative regulation of cell differentiation| |brain development| |head development| |regulation of neurogenesis| |tube development| |response to lipid| |response to hormone| |response to organic cyclic compound| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |negative regulation of developmental process| |positive regulation of cell differentiation| |central nervous system development| |neuron differentiation| |response to drug| |epithelium development| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |positive regulation of developmental process| |response to endogenous stimulus| |generation of neurons| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |neurogenesis| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |cell development| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |tissue development| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of cell differentiation| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
