Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Signaling leads to the inhibition of adenylate cyclase activity. Inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance. Plays a role in the perception of pain and in opiate-mediated analgesia. Plays a role in developing analgesic tolerance to morphine. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22184124, ECO:0000269|PubMed:7808419, ECO:0000269|PubMed:8201839}. |7TM GPCR Srx| |7TM GPCR Srsx| |7TM GPCR Srv| |7tm 1| |enkephalin receptor activity| |spine apparatus| |neuronal dense core vesicle| |receptor serine/threonine kinase binding| |opioid receptor activity| |opioid receptor signaling pathway| |negative regulation of protein oligomerization| |positive regulation of CREB transcription factor activity| |neuropeptide binding| |eating behavior| |dendrite membrane| |integral component of synaptic vesicle membrane| |intrinsic component of plasma membrane| |regulation of sensory perception of pain| |regulation of sensory perception| |regulation of protein oligomerization| |integral component of postsynaptic density membrane| |peptide binding| |axon terminus| |integral component of presynaptic membrane| |regulation of mitochondrial membrane potential| |adult locomotory behavior| |adenylate cyclase-inhibiting G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |feeding behavior| |phospholipase C-activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |positive regulation of peptidyl-serine phosphorylation| |neuropeptide signaling pathway| |negative regulation of protein complex assembly| |regulation of peptidyl-serine phosphorylation| |regulation of nervous system process| |adult behavior| |cellular response to hypoxia| |locomotory behavior| |cellular response to decreased oxygen levels| |adenylate cyclase-modulating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |cellular response to toxic substance| |cellular response to oxygen levels| |membrane raft| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger| |regulation of calcium ion transport| |positive regulation of DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |response to hypoxia| |response to decreased oxygen levels| |response to oxygen levels| |regulation of metal ion transport| |regulation of DNA-binding transcription factor activity| |regulation of membrane potential| |regulation of protein complex assembly| |cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |response to toxic substance| |response to growth factor| |behavior| |regulation of system process| |cytokine-mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of ion transport| |negative regulation of cellular component organization| |G protein-coupled receptor activity| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |cellular response to cytokine stimulus| |positive regulation of protein phosphorylation| |positive regulation of phosphorylation| |response to cytokine| |positive regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |response to abiotic stimulus| |positive regulation of protein modification process| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |integral component of plasma membrane| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |regulation of phosphorylation| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |cellular response to stress| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of transport| |immune response| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp349|Cytochalasin-B 5μM R07 exp349]]|1.71| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
