It has similarity to yeast SEC14 and to Japanese flying squid RALBP which suggests a possible role of the gene product in an intracellular transport system. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene; some variants represent read-through transcripts that include exons from the upstream gene C17orf86. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: May play a role in innate immunity by inhibiting the antiviral RIG-I signaling pathway. In this pathway, functions as a negative regulator of DDX58/RIG-I, the cytoplasmic sensor of viral nucleic acids. Prevents the interaction of DDX58 with MAVS/IPS1, an important step in signal propagation (PubMed:23843640). May also regulate the SLC18A3 and SLC5A7 cholinergic transporters (PubMed:17092608). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:17092608, ECO:0000269|PubMed:23843640}. |PRELI| |CRAL TRIO| |CRAL TRIO N| |RIG-I binding| |molecular function regulator| |choline transport| |negative regulation of RIG-I signaling pathway| |negative regulation of viral-induced cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of RIG-I signaling pathway| |regulation of viral-induced cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptor signaling pathway| |negative regulation of defense response to virus| |organic cation transport| |ammonium transport| |regulation of defense response to virus| |negative regulation of response to biotic stimulus| |negative regulation of immune effector process| |neurotransmitter transport| |negative regulation of defense response| |negative regulation of multi-organism process| |negative regulation of response to external stimulus| |negative regulation of immune system process| |regulation of innate immune response| |regulation of immune effector process| |negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of response to biotic stimulus| |regulation of cytokine production| |regulation of defense response| |innate immune response| |regulation of multi-organism process| |cation transport| |defense response to other organism| |Golgi apparatus| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |regulation of immune response| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |response to other organism| |response to external biotic stimulus| |response to biotic stimulus| |defense response| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |ion transport| |regulation of response to stress| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |regulation of immune system process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |nitrogen compound transport| |immune response| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp434|Vemurafenib 6.6μM R08 exp434]]|-2.97| |[[:results:exp508|NN-Dimethylsphingosine 2.5μM R08 exp508]]|-2.21| |[[:results:exp89|Vemurafenib 6.6μM R02 exp89]]|-2.15| |[[:results:exp490|Hydroxychloroquine 30μM R08 exp490]]|-1.86| |[[:results:exp502|Milciclib 2μM R08 exp502]]|1.84| |[[:results:exp513|ONC212 0.15μM R08 exp513]]|1.98| |[[:results:exp526|Sulforaphane 9μM R08 exp526 no dilution day6]]|2.04| |[[:results:exp460|BML-284 0.09μM R08 exp460]]|2.16| |[[:results:exp312|2-Methoxyestradiol 0.55 to 1μM on day4 R07 exp312]]|2.23| |[[:results:exp447|Amiloride 100μM R08 exp447]]|2.41| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
