Proposed to activate C27 precursors of bile acids to their CoA thioesters derivatives before side chain cleavage via peroxisomal beta-oxidation occurs. In vitro, activates 3-alpha,7- alpha,12-alpha-trihydroxy-5-beta-cholestanate (THCA), the C27 precursor of cholic acid deriving from the de novo synthesis from cholesterol. Does not utilize C24 bile acids as substrates. In vitro, also activates long- and branched-chain fatty acids and may have additional roles in fatty acid metabolism. May be involved in translocation of long-chain fatty acids (LFCA) across membranes (By similarity). {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11980911}. |AMP-binding| |pristanate-CoA ligase activity| |phytanate-CoA ligase activity| |methyl-branched fatty acid metabolic process| |fatty acid transmembrane transporter activity| |very long-chain fatty acid catabolic process| |decanoate-CoA ligase activity| |fatty acid alpha-oxidation| |very long-chain fatty acid-CoA ligase activity| |lipid import into cell| |long-chain fatty acid import into cell| |long-chain fatty acid transporter activity| |long-chain fatty acid-CoA ligase activity| |integral component of peroxisomal membrane| |acyl-CoA ligase activity| |bile acid biosynthetic process| |very long-chain fatty acid metabolic process| |bile acid metabolic process| |peroxisomal membrane| |fatty acid beta-oxidation| |long-chain fatty acid transport| |protein targeting to peroxisome| |protein localization to peroxisome| |establishment of protein localization to peroxisome| |peroxisomal transport| |fatty acid transport| |fatty acid oxidation| |lipid oxidation| |peroxisome organization| |specific granule membrane| |fatty acid catabolic process| |integral component of endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |long-chain fatty acid metabolic process| |monocarboxylic acid catabolic process| |steroid biosynthetic process| |monocarboxylic acid transport| |organic hydroxy compound biosynthetic process| |monocarboxylic acid biosynthetic process| |cellular lipid catabolic process| |lipid modification| |steroid metabolic process| |organic acid catabolic process| |carboxylic acid catabolic process| |carboxylic acid transport| |organic acid transport| |lipid transport| |lipid catabolic process| |carboxylic acid biosynthetic process| |endoplasmic reticulum lumen| |organic acid biosynthetic process| |lipid localization| |fatty acid metabolic process| |signaling receptor binding| |enzyme binding| |protein targeting| |establishment of protein localization to organelle| |small molecule catabolic process| |organic hydroxy compound metabolic process| |organic anion transport| |neutrophil degranulation| |neutrophil activation involved in immune response| |neutrophil mediated immunity| |neutrophil activation| |granulocyte activation| |leukocyte degranulation| |myeloid leukocyte mediated immunity| |myeloid cell activation involved in immune response| |monocarboxylic acid metabolic process| |lipid biosynthetic process| |anion transport| |myeloid leukocyte activation| |small molecule biosynthetic process| |leukocyte activation involved in immune response| |cell activation involved in immune response| |import into cell| |regulated exocytosis| |protein localization to organelle| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |exocytosis| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |leukocyte activation| |endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |oxidation-reduction process| |intracellular protein transport| |oxoacid metabolic process| |secretion by cell| |endoplasmic reticulum| |organic acid metabolic process| |export from cell| |cell activation| |immune effector process| |secretion| |lipid metabolic process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |ion transport| |ATP binding| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |small molecule metabolic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |immune response| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
