May participate in the regulation of membrane transport of ouabain. Involved in the uptake of the dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor sitagliptin and hence may play a role in its transport into and out of renal proximal tubule cells. May be involved in the first step of the transport pathway of digoxin and various compounds into the urine in the kidney. May be involved in sperm maturation by enabling directed movement of organic anions and compounds within or between cells. This ion- transporting process is important to maintain the strict epididymal homeostasis necessary for sperm maturation. May have a role in secretory functions since seminal vesicle epithelial cells are assumed to secrete proteins involved in decapacitation by modifying surface proteins to facilitate the acquisition of the ability to fertilize the egg. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8BGD4, ECO:0000269|PubMed:14993604, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17314201}. |MFS 1| |OATP| |sodium-independent organic anion transport| |sodium-independent organic anion transmembrane transporter activity| |azurophil granule membrane| |specific granule membrane| |basolateral plasma membrane| |organic anion transport| |neutrophil degranulation| |neutrophil activation involved in immune response| |neutrophil mediated immunity| |neutrophil activation| |granulocyte activation| |leukocyte degranulation| |myeloid leukocyte mediated immunity| |myeloid cell activation involved in immune response| |spermatogenesis| |male gamete generation| |anion transport| |myeloid leukocyte activation| |leukocyte activation involved in immune response| |cell activation involved in immune response| |gamete generation| |regulated exocytosis| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |exocytosis| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |leukocyte activation| |multi-organism reproductive process| |secretion by cell| |export from cell| |cell activation| |immune effector process| |secretion| |transmembrane transport| |ion transport| |integral component of plasma membrane| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |immune response| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found. ^Gene^Correlation^ |[[:human genes:p:prim1|PRIM1]]|0.442| |[[:human genes:p:polr2j3|POLR2J3]]|0.428| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 10338 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: 0.96 {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}}
