These proteins are found on cell membranes and serve as the targets for V-SNARES (vesicle-SNAP receptors) permitting specific synaptic vesicle docking and fusion. A microdeletion in the region of chromosome 20 where this gene is located has been associated with pseudohypoparathyroidism type Ib. Multiple transcript variants have been found for this gene. Read-through transcription also exists between this gene and the neighboring downstream aminopeptidase-like 1 (NPEPL1) gene. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]. COMPLETENESS: complete on the 3' end. * **UniProt Summary**: N/A |Syntaxin| |SNARE| |Golgi cisterna| |Golgi ribbon formation| |SNAP receptor activity| |integral component of synaptic vesicle membrane| |SNARE complex| |syntaxin binding| |vesicle docking| |SNARE binding| |vesicle fusion| |endomembrane system| |organelle membrane fusion| |retrograde transport, endosome to Golgi| |trans-Golgi network membrane| |organelle fusion| |membrane fusion| |Golgi organization| |cytosolic transport| |trans-Golgi network| |organelle localization by membrane tethering| |membrane docking| |endosomal transport| |vesicle organization| |focal adhesion| |endomembrane system organization| |organelle localization| |Golgi membrane| |intracellular membrane-bounded organelle| |perinuclear region of cytoplasm| |membrane organization| |Golgi apparatus| |intracellular protein transport| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp434|Vemurafenib 6.6μM R08 exp434]]|-2.15| |[[:results:exp68|Clomiphene 4.4μM R02 exp68]]|-1.85| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
