The encoded protein is localized to the nucleolus where it functions in chromatin remodeling and as an inhibitor of cell-cycle progression. This protein may play a role in the suppression of tumor growth. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009]. * **UniProt Summary**: Part of the CASK/TBR1/TSPYL2 transcriptional complex which modulates gene expression in response to neuronal synaptic activity, probably by facilitating nucleosome assembly. May inhibit cell proliferation by inducing p53-dependent CDKN1A expression. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11395479, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17317670}. |NAP| |rDNA binding| |negative regulation of DNA replication| |IRE1-mediated unfolded protein response| |endoplasmic reticulum unfolded protein response| |regulation of DNA replication| |nucleosome assembly| |cellular response to unfolded protein| |chromatin assembly| |cellular response to topologically incorrect protein| |chromatin assembly or disassembly| |nucleosome organization| |response to unfolded protein| |DNA packaging| |negative regulation of cell growth| |response to topologically incorrect protein| |protein-DNA complex assembly| |protein-DNA complex subunit organization| |negative regulation of growth| |response to endoplasmic reticulum stress| |DNA conformation change| |regulation of cell growth| |negative regulation of cell cycle| |regulation of growth| |chromatin organization| |regulation of protein kinase activity| |cellular protein-containing complex assembly| |nucleolus| |regulation of kinase activity| |regulation of transferase activity| |chromosome organization| |regulation of cell cycle| |cell cycle| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |protein-containing complex assembly| |regulation of phosphorylation| |cellular response to stress| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of protein modification process| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp306|Rapamycin 2μM R07 exp306]]|-2.2| |[[:results:exp78|Pterostilbene 16μM R02 exp78]]|-1.85| |[[:results:exp5|Alpha-Amanitin 0.5μM R00 exp5]]|-1.8| |[[:results:exp227|Cryptotanshinone 12μM R05 exp227]]|1.85| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
