This gene is up-regulated by androgens and is down-regulated by estrogens in the prostate cancer cell line. This gene exhibits a lower level of expression in testicular cancer tissues than in normal tissues. The protein encoded by this gene has structural similarity to prostatic and lysosomal acid phosphatases. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: May dephosphorylate receptor tyrosine-protein kinase ERBB4 and inhibits its ligand-induced proteolytic cleavage (PubMed:15219672). May play a role in odontogenesis (PubMed:27843125). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15219672, ECO:0000269|PubMed:27843125}. |His Phos 2| |negative regulation of ERBB4 signaling pathway| |peptidyl-tyrosine dephosphorylation involved in inactivation of protein kinase activity| |acid phosphatase activity| |negative regulation of protein maturation| |negative regulation of protein processing| |negative regulation of ERBB signaling pathway| |regulation of neuronal synaptic plasticity| |receptor tyrosine kinase binding| |regulation of protein processing| |regulation of protein maturation| |regulation of ERBB signaling pathway| |protein tyrosine phosphatase activity| |peptidyl-tyrosine dephosphorylation| |odontogenesis| |negative regulation of neuron projection development| |negative regulation of cell projection organization| |regulation of synaptic plasticity| |postsynaptic membrane| |protein dephosphorylation| |negative regulation of protein kinase activity| |negative regulation of neuron differentiation| |negative regulation of kinase activity| |negative regulation of transferase activity| |negative regulation of neurogenesis| |dephosphorylation| |negative regulation of nervous system development| |negative regulation of cell development| |negative regulation of proteolysis| |negative regulation of protein phosphorylation| |modulation of chemical synaptic transmission| |regulation of trans-synaptic signaling| |negative regulation of phosphorylation| |regulation of neuron projection development| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |regulation of plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |negative regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of cell projection organization| |negative regulation of cell differentiation| |regulation of proteolysis| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |regulation of protein kinase activity| |regulation of neurogenesis| |regulation of kinase activity| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |negative regulation of developmental process| |animal organ morphogenesis| |regulation of transferase activity| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of molecular function| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |generation of neurons| |regulation of phosphorylation| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |neurogenesis| |negative regulation of gene expression| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |regulation of protein modification process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
