Annexin 5 is a phospholipase A2 and protein kinase C inhibitory protein with calcium channel activity and a potential role in cellular signal transduction, inflammation, growth and differentiation. Annexin 5 has also been described as placental anticoagulant protein I, vascular anticoagulant-alpha, endonexin II, lipocortin V, placental protein 4 and anchorin CII. The gene spans 29 kb containing 13 exons, and encodes a single transcript of approximately 1.6 kb and a protein product with a molecular weight of about 35 kDa. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: This protein is an anticoagulant protein that acts as an indirect inhibitor of the thromboplastin-specific complex, which is involved in the blood coagulation cascade. |Annexin| |negative regulation of prolactin secretion| |endothelial microparticle| |cellular response to lead ion| |phospholipase inhibitor activity| |cellular response to gonadotropin-releasing hormone| |response to gonadotropin-releasing hormone| |calcium transmembrane transporter activity, phosphorylative mechanism| |regulation of flagellated sperm motility| |regulation of cilium-dependent cell motility| |response to lead ion| |response to thyroid hormone| |peptide hormone binding| |negative regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |negative regulation of blood coagulation| |negative regulation of hemostasis| |negative regulation of coagulation| |calcium-dependent phospholipid binding| |negative regulation of sequestering of calcium ion| |receptor tyrosine kinase binding| |negative regulation of hormone secretion| |negative regulation of wound healing| |regulation of blood coagulation| |regulation of hemostasis| |regulation of coagulation| |negative regulation of response to wounding| |intracellular| |phospholipid binding| |regulation of sequestering of calcium ion| |platelet degranulation| |negative regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of wound healing| |negative regulation of peptide secretion| |response to calcium ion| |regulation of reproductive process| |regulation of response to wounding| |heparin binding| |negative regulation of protein transport| |negative regulation of establishment of protein localization| |cellular response to metal ion| |calcium ion transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of peptide hormone secretion| |cellular response to inorganic substance| |negative regulation of secretion| |calcium ion transport| |cellular response to peptide hormone stimulus| |regulation of hormone secretion| |blood coagulation| |coagulation| |divalent metal ion transport| |hemostasis| |divalent inorganic cation transport| |cellular response to peptide| |collagen-containing extracellular matrix| |negative regulation of response to external stimulus| |response to metal ion| |response to peptide hormone| |external side of plasma membrane| |focal adhesion| |regulation of protein secretion| |response to peptide| |wound healing| |negative regulation of transport| |regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of body fluid levels| |response to inorganic substance| |regulation of hormone levels| |inorganic cation transmembrane transport| |response to wounding| |cellular response to organonitrogen compound| |cellular response to hormone stimulus| |cation transmembrane transport| |metal ion transport| |positive regulation of apoptotic process| |inorganic ion transmembrane transport| |positive regulation of programmed cell death| |cellular response to nitrogen compound| |positive regulation of cell death| |regulated exocytosis| |regulation of protein transport| |calcium ion binding| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |exocytosis| |regulation of secretion| |cation transport| |negative regulation of apoptotic process| |negative regulation of programmed cell death| |response to hormone| |regulation of cell motility| |ion transmembrane transport| |regulation of locomotion| |negative regulation of cell death| |regulation of cellular component movement| |response to organonitrogen compound| |secretion by cell| |regulation of protein localization| |export from cell| |cellular response to oxygen-containing compound| |response to nitrogen compound| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |secretion| |negative regulation of molecular function| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |transmembrane transport| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |ion transport| |response to endogenous stimulus| |regulation of response to stress| |regulation of apoptotic process| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |regulation of programmed cell death| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |regulation of cell death| |regulation of transport| |extracellular region| |vesicle-mediated transport| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Rifampicin 1μM R00 exp31|1.75| |Taxol 0.002μM R01 exp54|1.75| |TNF-alpha 44ng/ml R08 exp533|1.97| |Golgicide-A 4μM R03 exp122|2.12| |DABN 2μM R00 exp16|2.94| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
