The encoded protein is insulin-responsive, is dependent on the kinase Akt and requires the Akt-dependent 14-3-3 binding protein which binds sequentially to two serine residues. The result of these interactions is regulation of cell motility. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: Rho GTPase-activating protein involved in the signal transduction pathway that regulates endothelial cell capillary tube formation during angiogenesis. Acts as a GTPase activator for the RAC1 by converting it to an inactive GDP-bound state. Inhibits RAC1-dependent lamellipodia formation. May also play a role in transcription regulation via its interaction with VEZF1, by regulating activity of the endothelin-1 (EDN1) promoter (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |PH| |RhoGAP| |regulation of postsynapse organization| |regulation of synapse organization| |regulation of synapse structure or activity| |GTPase activator activity| |angiogenesis| |regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |glutamatergic synapse| |blood vessel morphogenesis| |positive regulation of GTPase activity| |focal adhesion| |regulation of GTPase activity| |blood vessel development| |vasculature development| |cardiovascular system development| |tube morphogenesis| |positive regulation of hydrolase activity| |tube development| |circulatory system development| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |positive regulation of catalytic activity| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp25|Oligomycin-A 2μM R00 exp25]]|-1.78| |[[:results:exp135|MS023 7μM R03 exp135]]|-1.71| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
