The encoded enzyme has a particular affinity for galactose-beta-1,4-xylose found in the linker region of glycosamines. This enzyme is required for glycosaminoglycan synthesis. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2013]. * **UniProt Summary**: Beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase that transfers galactose from UDP-galactose to substrates with a terminal beta-linked galactose residue. Has a preference for galactose-beta-1,4-xylose that is found in the linker region of glycosaminoglycans, such as heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate. Has no activity towards substrates with terminal glucosamine or galactosamine residues. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11551958}. |Galactosyl T| |galactosylxylosylprotein 3-beta-galactosyltransferase activity| |UDP-galactosyltransferase activity| |UDP-galactose:beta-N-acetylglucosamine beta-1,3-galactosyltransferase activity| |Golgi medial cisterna| |galactosyltransferase activity| |chondroitin sulfate biosynthetic process| |heparan sulfate proteoglycan biosynthetic process| |chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan biosynthetic process| |heparan sulfate proteoglycan metabolic process| |chondroitin sulfate metabolic process| |chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan metabolic process| |proteoglycan biosynthetic process| |Golgi cisterna membrane| |proteoglycan metabolic process| |glycosaminoglycan biosynthetic process| |mucopolysaccharide metabolic process| |aminoglycan biosynthetic process| |glycosaminoglycan metabolic process| |aminoglycan metabolic process| |sulfur compound biosynthetic process| |protein glycosylation| |macromolecule glycosylation| |glycosylation| |glycoprotein biosynthetic process| |sulfur compound metabolic process| |glycoprotein metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |Golgi membrane| |Golgi apparatus| |oxoacid metabolic process| |endoplasmic reticulum| |organic acid metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Docetaxel 0.002μM R01 exp45|1.82| |Cabazitaxel 0.001μM R05 exp223|2.07| |Pyridostatin 4μM R05 exp240|3.08| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
