NCBP3 serves as adapter protein linking the capped RNAs (m7GpppG-capped RNA) to NCBP1/CBP80. Unlike the conventional CBC with NCBP2 which binds both small nuclear RNA (snRNA) and messenger (mRNA) and is involved in their export from the nucleus, the alternative CBC with NCBP3 does not bind snRNA and associates only with mRNA thereby playing a role in only mRNA export. The alternative CBC is particularly important in cellular stress situations such as virus infections and the NCBP3 activity is critical to inhibit virus growth (PubMed:26382858). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:26382858}. |DUF2414| |RNA cap binding complex| |RNA 7-methylguanosine cap binding| |7-methylguanosine mRNA capping| |7-methylguanosine RNA capping| |RNA capping| |mRNA transport| |mRNA binding| |RNA transport| |defense response to virus| |nucleic acid transport| |establishment of RNA localization| |RNA localization| |nucleobase-containing compound transport| |response to virus| |nuclear speck| |mRNA processing| |mRNA metabolic process| |RNA processing| |defense response to other organism| |immune effector process| |response to other organism| |response to external biotic stimulus| |response to biotic stimulus| |defense response| |RNA binding| |RNA metabolic process| |nitrogen compound transport| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Diepoxybutane 3μM R07 exp354|-2.46| |RO-3306 3 to 4μM on day4 R04 exp165|-2.44| |Tunicamycin 0.04 to 0.075μM on day4 R07 exp419|-1.95| |Daidzin 10μM R06 exp280|-1.78| |BML-284 0.09μM R08 exp460|-1.76| |Rapamycin 0.001μM R08 exp429|1.89| ^Gene^Correlation^ |HGC6.3|0.423| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 3511 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: 7.42
