C1q is composed of 18 polypeptide chains which include 6 A-chains, 6 B-chains, and 6 C-chains. Each chain contains an N-terminal collagen-like region and a C-terminal C1q globular domain. C1q deficiency is associated with lupus erythematosus and glomerulonephritis. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: C1q associates with the proenzymes C1r and C1s to yield C1, the first component of the serum complement system. The collagen-like regions of C1q interact with the Ca(2+)-dependent C1r(2)C1s(2) proenzyme complex, and efficient activation of C1 takes place on interaction of the globular heads of C1q with the Fc regions of IgG or IgM antibody present in immune complexes. |Collagen| |C1q| |complement component C1 complex| |synapse pruning| |collagen trimer| |cell| |postsynapse| |regulation of complement activation| |regulation of humoral immune response| |blood microparticle| |complement activation, classical pathway| |humoral immune response mediated by circulating immunoglobulin| |complement activation| |inner ear development| |immunoglobulin mediated immune response| |B cell mediated immunity| |ear development| |lymphocyte mediated immunity| |synapse| |synapse organization| |adaptive immune response based on somatic recombination of immune receptors built from immunoglobulin superfamily domains| |humoral immune response| |collagen-containing extracellular matrix| |cellular component disassembly| |regulation of immune effector process| |sensory organ development| |adaptive immune response| |activation of immune response| |innate immune response| |leukocyte mediated immunity| |positive regulation of immune response| |protein homodimerization activity| |defense response to other organism| |immune effector process| |regulation of immune response| |positive regulation of immune system process| |response to other organism| |response to external biotic stimulus| |response to biotic stimulus| |defense response| |regulation of immune system process| |immune response| |extracellular region| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp89|Vemurafenib 6.6μM R02 exp89]]|1.72| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
