Calcitonin is involved in calcium regulation and acts to regulate phosphorus metabolism. Calcitonin gene-related peptide functions as a vasodilator and as an antimicrobial peptide while katacalcin is a calcium-lowering peptide. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2014]. * **UniProt Summary**: N/A |Calc CGRP IAPP| |calcitonin receptor binding| |negative regulation of bone resorption| |negative regulation of bone remodeling| |negative regulation of tissue remodeling| |positive regulation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration involved in phospholipase C-activating G protein-coupled signaling pathway| |embryo implantation| |regulation of bone resorption| |monocyte chemotaxis| |mononuclear cell migration| |regulation of bone remodeling| |regulation of tissue remodeling| |cell| |phospholipase C-activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |hormone activity| |adenylate cyclase-activating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |myeloid leukocyte migration| |leukocyte chemotaxis| |cAMP-mediated signaling| |cyclic-nucleotide-mediated signaling| |female pregnancy| |adenylate cyclase-modulating G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |cell chemotaxis| |multi-multicellular organism process| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway, coupled to cyclic nucleotide second messenger| |positive regulation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration| |regulation of cytosolic calcium ion concentration| |activation of protein kinase activity| |second-messenger-mediated signaling| |leukocyte migration| |cellular calcium ion homeostasis| |calcium ion homeostasis| |cellular divalent inorganic cation homeostasis| |divalent inorganic cation homeostasis| |positive regulation of protein kinase activity| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |cellular metal ion homeostasis| |positive regulation of kinase activity| |metal ion homeostasis| |cellular cation homeostasis| |cellular ion homeostasis| |positive regulation of transferase activity| |cation homeostasis| |inorganic ion homeostasis| |cellular chemical homeostasis| |ion homeostasis| |regulation of protein kinase activity| |regulation of kinase activity| |cellular homeostasis| |cell migration| |regulation of transferase activity| |multi-organism reproductive process| |positive regulation of protein phosphorylation| |positive regulation of phosphorylation| |identical protein binding| |cell motility| |localization of cell| |chemical homeostasis| |positive regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of protein modification process| |negative regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |negative regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |locomotion| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |positive regulation of catalytic activity| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |regulation of phosphorylation| |extracellular space| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |homeostatic process| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of protein modification process| |extracellular region| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp516|Pyrazinamide 100μM R08 exp516]]|1.85| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
