Specifically recognizes growing microtubule minus-ends and autonomously decorates and stabilizes microtubule lattice formed by microtubule minus-end polymerization (PubMed:24486153). Acts on free microtubule minus-ends that are not capped by microtubule-nucleating proteins or other factors and protects microtubule minus-ends from depolymerization (PubMed:24486153). In addition, it also reduces the velocity of microtubule polymerization (PubMed:24486153). Required for the biogenesis and the maintenance of zonula adherens by anchoring the minus-end of microtubules to zonula adherens and by recruiting the kinesin KIFC3 to those junctional sites (PubMed:19041755). Required for orienting the apical-to-basal polarity of microtubules in epithelial cells: acts by tethering non- centrosomal microtubules to the apical cortex, leading to their longitudinal orientation (PubMed:27802168, PubMed:26715742). Plays a key role in early embryos, which lack centrosomes: accumulates at the microtubule bridges that connect pairs of cells and enables the formation of a non-centrosomal microtubule-organizing center that directs intracellular transport in the early embryo (By similarity). Couples non-centrosomal microtubules with actin: interaction with MACF1 at the minus ends of non-centrosomal microtubules, tethers the microtubules to actin filaments, regulating focal adhesion size and cell migration (PubMed:27693509). Plays a key role in the generation of non- centrosomal microtubules by accumulating in the pericentrosomal region and cooperating with KATNA1 to release non-centrosomal microtubules from the centrosome (PubMed:28386021). Through the microtubule cytoskeleton, also regulates the organization of cellular organelles including the Golgi and the early endosomes (PubMed:28089391). Through interaction with AKAP9, involved in translocation of Golgi vesicles in epithelial cells, where microtubules are mainly non-centrosomal (PubMed:28089391). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q80VC9, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19041755, ECO:0000269|PubMed:23169647, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24486153, ECO:0000269|PubMed:26715742, ECO:0000269|PubMed:27693509, ECO:0000269|PubMed:27802168, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28089391, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28386021}. |CAMSAP CKK| |CH| |CAMSAP CH| |zonula adherens maintenance| |establishment or maintenance of microtubule cytoskeleton polarity| |adherens junction maintenance| |microtubule minus-end| |zonula adherens| |cell-cell junction maintenance| |microtubule minus-end binding| |cell junction maintenance| |epithelial cell-cell adhesion| |regulation of Golgi organization| |establishment of epithelial cell apical/basal polarity| |establishment or maintenance of cytoskeleton polarity| |polarized epithelial cell differentiation| |establishment of apical/basal cell polarity| |establishment of monopolar cell polarity| |establishment or maintenance of monopolar cell polarity| |negative regulation of microtubule depolymerization| |microtubule anchoring| |spectrin binding| |regulation of microtubule depolymerization| |establishment of epithelial cell polarity| |negative regulation of microtubule polymerization or depolymerization| |morphogenesis of a polarized epithelium| |establishment or maintenance of epithelial cell apical/basal polarity| |cellular component maintenance| |establishment or maintenance of apical/basal cell polarity| |establishment or maintenance of bipolar cell polarity| |regulation of microtubule polymerization| |cytoplasmic microtubule organization| |regulation of cell-substrate junction assembly| |regulation of focal adhesion assembly| |negative regulation of protein depolymerization| |microtubule-based protein transport| |protein transport along microtubule| |regulation of adherens junction organization| |negative regulation of protein complex disassembly| |regulation of microtubule polymerization or depolymerization| |regulation of protein depolymerization| |adherens junction organization| |regulation of cell junction assembly| |negative regulation of phosphatase activity| |negative regulation of dephosphorylation| |regulation of protein complex disassembly| |regulation of cell-matrix adhesion| |establishment of cell polarity| |negative regulation of supramolecular fiber organization| |cell-cell junction organization| |negative regulation of cytoskeleton organization| |transport along microtubule| |cytoskeleton-dependent intracellular transport| |regulation of phosphatase activity| |microtubule-based transport| |regulation of microtubule cytoskeleton organization| |establishment or maintenance of cell polarity| |calmodulin binding| |actin filament binding| |regulation of dephosphorylation| |regulation of cell-substrate adhesion| |cell junction organization| |regulation of microtubule-based process| |regulation of protein polymerization| |microtubule-based movement| |regulation of supramolecular fiber organization| |negative regulation of organelle organization| |in utero embryonic development| |morphogenesis of an epithelium| |regulation of protein complex assembly| |negative regulation of hydrolase activity| |supramolecular fiber organization| |microtubule cytoskeleton organization| |centrosome| |cell-cell adhesion| |regulation of cytoskeleton organization| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |tissue morphogenesis| |chordate embryonic development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |neuron projection development| |microtubule-based process| |regulation of cell adhesion| |epithelial cell differentiation| |negative regulation of cellular component organization| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |neuron development| |regulation of cell migration| |regulation of cell motility| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |embryo development| |regulation of locomotion| |regulation of cellular component movement| |intracellular protein transport| |neuron differentiation| |cytoskeleton organization| |epithelium development| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |negative regulation of molecular function| |cell projection organization| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |regulation of organelle organization| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |generation of neurons| |peptide transport| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |neurogenesis| |cell development| |tissue development| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
