The encoded protein is thought to be a transcription factor and may be a tumor suppressor. However, a translocation event is sometimes observed between this gene and the WWTR1 gene, with the resulting WWTR1-CAMTA1 oncoprotein leading to epithelioid hemangioendothelioma, a malignant vascular cancer. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2017]. * **UniProt Summary**: Transcriptional activator. May act as a tumor suppressor. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11925432, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15709179}. |CG-1| |TIG| |positive regulation of calcineurin-NFAT signaling cascade| |positive regulation of calcineurin-mediated signaling| |regulation of calcineurin-mediated signaling| |regulation of calcineurin-NFAT signaling cascade| |positive regulation of calcium-mediated signaling| |positive regulation of protein dephosphorylation| |neuromuscular process controlling balance| |positive regulation of dephosphorylation| |regulation of calcium-mediated signaling| |neuromuscular process| |regulation of protein dephosphorylation| |regulation of dephosphorylation| |sequence-specific DNA binding| |nucleolus| |positive regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |positive regulation of protein modification process| |nervous system process| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of signal transduction| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein modification process| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |system process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp506|Momordin-Ic 10μM R08 exp506]]|1.77| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
