The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Seems to have broad catalytic activity towards several chemicals, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon dihydrodiols and aromatic amines (PubMed:16551781, PubMed:24278521). Active also in the metabolism of indoline substrates and is able to activate aflatoxin B1 into cytotoxic products (PubMed:20805301). Furthermore, it seems to be involved in the oxydation of lysophospholipids and fatty acids (PubMed:22591743). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16551781, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20805301, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22591743, ECO:0000269|PubMed:24278521}. |p450| |aflatoxin B1 metabolic process| |mycotoxin metabolic process| |aflatoxin metabolic process| |organic heteropentacyclic compound metabolic process| |ether metabolic process| |toxin metabolic process| |exogenous drug catabolic process| |oxidoreductase activity, acting on paired donors, with incorporation or reduction of molecular oxygen, reduced flavin or flavoprotein as one donor, and incorporation of one atom of oxygen| |steroid hydroxylase activity| |secondary metabolic process| |cellular ketone metabolic process| |xenobiotic metabolic process| |iron ion binding| |heme binding| |drug catabolic process| |cellular response to xenobiotic stimulus| |response to xenobiotic stimulus| |endoplasmic reticulum lumen| |drug metabolic process| |cell surface| |intracellular membrane-bounded organelle| |endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |oxidation-reduction process| |response to drug| |organic acid metabolic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |FBS-Wisent 0.1 R07 exp426|-1.86| |Ixabepilone 0.004 to 0.005μM on day4 R04 exp184|-1.72| |Hydroxyurea 15μM R06 exp289|1.79| |42°C R08 exp539|1.81| |DABN racemic mixture R03 exp93|2.07| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
