Dedicator of cytokinesis proteins act as guanine nucleotide exchange factors for small Rho family G proteins. The encoded protein regulates the small GTPase Rac, thereby influencing several biological processes, including phagocytosis and cell migration. Overexpression of this gene has also been associated with certain cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2014]. * **UniProt Summary**: Involved in cytoskeletal rearrangements required for phagocytosis of apoptotic cells and cell motility. Along with DOCK1, mediates CRK/CRKL regulation of epithelial and endothelial cell spreading and migration on type IV collagen (PubMed:19004829). Functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF), which activates Rac Rho small GTPases by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. Its GEF activity may be enhanced by ELMO1 (PubMed:8657152). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19004829, ECO:0000269|PubMed:8657152}. |SH3 1| |SH3 2| |Ded cyto| |guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor complex| |positive regulation of substrate adhesion-dependent cell spreading| |regulation of substrate adhesion-dependent cell spreading| |vascular endothelial growth factor receptor signaling pathway| |Rho guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity| |integrin-mediated signaling pathway| |guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor activity| |positive regulation of cell-substrate adhesion| |phagocytosis, engulfment| |SH3 domain binding| |immune response-regulating cell surface receptor signaling pathway involved in phagocytosis| |Fc-gamma receptor signaling pathway involved in phagocytosis| |Fc receptor mediated stimulatory signaling pathway| |plasma membrane invagination| |Fc-gamma receptor signaling pathway| |positive regulation of epithelial cell migration| |membrane invagination| |positive regulation of cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |regulation of cell-substrate adhesion| |regulation of epithelial cell migration| |Fc receptor signaling pathway| |GTPase activator activity| |blood coagulation| |coagulation| |hemostasis| |regulation of cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |phagocytosis| |nuclear speck| |positive regulation of cell adhesion| |positive regulation of GTPase activity| |immune response-activating cell surface receptor signaling pathway| |wound healing| |immune response-regulating cell surface receptor signaling pathway| |regulation of GTPase activity| |regulation of cell morphogenesis| |regulation of body fluid levels| |positive regulation of cell migration| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway| |positive regulation of cell motility| |positive regulation of cellular component movement| |positive regulation of cell development| |positive regulation of locomotion| |endocytosis| |immune response-activating signal transduction| |response to wounding| |immune response-regulating signaling pathway| |activation of immune response| |import into cell| |regulation of cell adhesion| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |positive regulation of hydrolase activity| |regulation of cell migration| |membrane organization| |positive regulation of immune response| |regulation of cell motility| |apoptotic process| |regulation of cell development| |cell migration| |positive regulation of cell differentiation| |regulation of locomotion| |regulation of cellular component movement| |programmed cell death| |regulation of anatomical structure morphogenesis| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |immune effector process| |cell death| |positive regulation of immune system process| |regulation of immune response| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |locomotion| |positive regulation of developmental process| |positive regulation of catalytic activity| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |regulation of immune system process| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of cell differentiation| |vesicle-mediated transport| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
