Lack of Dol-P-Man results in defective surface expression of GPI-anchored proteins. Dol-P-Man is synthesized from GDP-mannose and dolichol-phosphate on the cytosolic side of the ER by the enzyme dolichyl-phosphate mannosyltransferase. The protein encoded by this gene is a hydrophobic protein that contains 2 predicted transmembrane domains and a putative ER localization signal near the C terminus. This protein associates with DPM1 in vivo and is required for the ER localization and stable expression of DPM1 and also enhances the binding of dolichol-phosphate to DPM1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Regulates the biosynthesis of dolichol phosphate- mannose. Regulatory subunit of the dolichol-phosphate mannose (DPM) synthase complex; essential for the ER localization and stable expression of DPM1. When associated with the GPI-GlcNAc transferase (GPI-GnT) complex enhances but is not essential for its activity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10944123}. |DPM2| |dolichol-phosphate-mannose synthase complex| |dolichyl-phosphate beta-D-mannosyltransferase activity| |dolichol metabolic process| |glycosylphosphatidylinositol-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase (GPI-GnT) complex| |polyprenol metabolic process| |enzyme regulator activity| |preassembly of GPI anchor in ER membrane| |protein O-linked mannosylation| |protein mannosylation| |GPI anchor biosynthetic process| |GPI anchor metabolic process| |protein N-linked glycosylation via asparagine| |peptidyl-asparagine modification| |mannosylation| |glycolipid biosynthetic process| |protein N-linked glycosylation| |protein lipidation| |lipoprotein biosynthetic process| |integral component of endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |glycolipid metabolic process| |phosphatidylinositol biosynthetic process| |liposaccharide metabolic process| |protein O-linked glycosylation| |lipoprotein metabolic process| |membrane lipid biosynthetic process| |isoprenoid metabolic process| |phosphatidylinositol metabolic process| |membrane lipid metabolic process| |glycerophospholipid biosynthetic process| |glycerolipid biosynthetic process| |phospholipid biosynthetic process| |protein glycosylation| |macromolecule glycosylation| |glycosylation| |regulation of protein stability| |glycerophospholipid metabolic process| |alcohol metabolic process| |glycoprotein biosynthetic process| |phospholipid metabolic process| |glycerolipid metabolic process| |glycoprotein metabolic process| |organic hydroxy compound metabolic process| |organophosphate biosynthetic process| |lipid biosynthetic process| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |organophosphate metabolic process| |endoplasmic reticulum membrane| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |lipid metabolic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp262|Alda-1 10μM R06 exp262]]|-1.97| |[[:results:exp537|WNT3A 44ng/ml R08 exp537]]|1.7| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
