The encoded transmembrane protein is a receptor for the soluble ligand ectodysplasin A, and can activate the nuclear factor-kappaB, JNK, and caspase-independent cell death pathways. It is required for the development of hair, teeth, and other ectodermal derivatives. Mutations in this gene result in autosomal dominant and recessive forms of hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Receptor for EDA isoform A1, but not for EDA isoform A2. Mediates the activation of NF-kappa-B and JNK. May promote caspase-independent cell death. No Pfam Domain information is available for this gene. |tube lumen cavitation| |salivary gland cavitation| |salivary gland morphogenesis| |salivary gland development| |exocrine system development| |hair follicle development| |apical part of cell| |skin epidermis development| |molting cycle process| |hair cycle process| |positive regulation of NIK/NF-kappaB signaling| |odontogenesis of dentin-containing tooth| |pigmentation| |hair cycle| |molting cycle| |gland morphogenesis| |regulation of NIK/NF-kappaB signaling| |tumor necrosis factor-mediated signaling pathway| |odontogenesis| |transmembrane signaling receptor activity| |positive regulation of JNK cascade| |tube formation| |positive regulation of stress-activated MAPK cascade| |positive regulation of stress-activated protein kinase signaling cascade| |positive regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB signaling| |regulation of JNK cascade| |signaling receptor activity| |regulation of stress-activated MAPK cascade| |regulation of I-kappaB kinase/NF-kappaB signaling| |regulation of stress-activated protein kinase signaling cascade| |cellular response to tumor necrosis factor| |response to tumor necrosis factor| |skin development| |gland development| |epidermis development| |positive regulation of MAPK cascade| |tube morphogenesis| |cytokine-mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of cellular response to stress| |regulation of MAPK cascade| |tube development| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |apoptotic process| |animal organ morphogenesis| |cellular response to cytokine stimulus| |positive regulation of protein phosphorylation| |positive regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |programmed cell death| |positive regulation of phosphorylation| |cell death| |response to cytokine| |epithelium development| |positive regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |positive regulation of protein modification process| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |regulation of response to stress| |regulation of phosphorylation| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of signal transduction| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |tissue development| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein modification process| |positive regulation of gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp47|Lapatinib 5μM R01 exp47]]|-2.52| |[[:results:exp48|Mubritinib 0.2μM R01 exp48]]|-1.78| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
