The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. Generally has an overlapping and redundant function with EPHB2. Like EPHB2, functions in axon guidance during development regulating for instance the neurons forming the corpus callosum and the anterior commissure, 2 major interhemispheric connections between the temporal lobes of the cerebral cortex. In addition to its role in axon guidance plays also an important redundant role with other ephrin-B receptors in development and maturation of dendritic spines and the formation of excitatory synapses. Controls other aspects of development through regulation of cell migration and positioning. This includes angiogenesis, palate development and thymic epithelium development for instance. Forward and reverse signaling through the EFNB2/EPHB3 complex also regulate migration and adhesion of cells that tubularize the urethra and septate the cloaca. Finally, plays an important role in intestinal epithelium differentiation segregating progenitor from differentiated cells in the crypt. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15536074}. |SAM 1| |Pkinase Tyr| |SAM 2| |Ephrin lbd| |Pkinase| |fn3| |GCC2 GCC3| |ephrin receptor activity| |axon guidance receptor activity| |corpus callosum development| |transmembrane-ephrin receptor activity| |dendritic spine morphogenesis| |retinal ganglion cell axon guidance| |neuron projection fasciculation| |axonal fasciculation| |central nervous system projection neuron axonogenesis| |dendritic spine development| |dendritic spine organization| |central nervous system neuron axonogenesis| |neuron projection organization| |thymus development| |digestive tract morphogenesis| |neuron recognition| |substrate adhesion-dependent cell spreading| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity| |dendrite morphogenesis| |positive regulation of synapse assembly| |central nervous system neuron development| |ephrin receptor signaling pathway| |postsynapse organization| |roof of mouth development| |dendrite development| |regulation of synapse assembly| |digestive tract development| |digestive system development| |peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation| |peptidyl-tyrosine modification| |central nervous system neuron differentiation| |regulation of axonogenesis| |cell-substrate adhesion| |protein autophosphorylation| |receptor complex| |regulation of synapse organization| |regulation of synapse structure or activity| |cell recognition| |telencephalon development| |axon guidance| |neuron projection guidance| |synapse organization| |regulation of cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |angiogenesis| |urogenital system development| |neuron projection| |axonogenesis| |forebrain development| |regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |blood vessel morphogenesis| |axon development| |gland development| |dendrite| |cell morphogenesis involved in neuron differentiation| |neuron projection morphogenesis| |regulation of GTPase activity| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection morphogenesis| |blood vessel development| |cell projection morphogenesis| |regulation of cell morphogenesis| |regulation of neuron projection development| |vasculature development| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway| |cell part morphogenesis| |cardiovascular system development| |positive regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |positive regulation of nervous system development| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development| |immune system development| |tube morphogenesis| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |neuron projection development| |regulation of cell adhesion| |regulation of plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |regulation of cell projection organization| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |cell morphogenesis| |brain development| |head development| |neuron development| |regulation of neurogenesis| |cellular component morphogenesis| |tube development| |circulatory system development| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |anatomical structure formation involved in morphogenesis| |regulation of nervous system development| |cell adhesion| |regulation of cell development| |biological adhesion| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |cell migration| |protein phosphorylation| |central nervous system development| |neuron differentiation| |regulation of anatomical structure morphogenesis| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |phosphorylation| |locomotion| |positive regulation of developmental process| |integral component of plasma membrane| |ATP binding| |generation of neurons| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |neurogenesis| |cell development| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |extracellular region| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
