This protein is a target of activated Ral subfamily of GTPases and thereby regulates exocytosis by tethering vesicles to the plasma membrane. Mutations in this gene may be related to Joubert syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: Component of the exocyst complex involved in the docking of exocytic vesicles with fusion sites on the plasma membrane. |Vps51| |Ral GTPase binding| |exocyst| |cell leading edge| |Golgi to plasma membrane transport| |extracellular matrix disassembly| |endosome organization| |vesicle-mediated transport to the plasma membrane| |post-Golgi vesicle-mediated transport| |late endosome| |growth cone| |regulation of macroautophagy| |vesicle organization| |regulation of autophagy| |extracellular matrix organization| |Golgi vesicle transport| |extracellular structure organization| |cellular component disassembly| |endomembrane system organization| |perinuclear region of cytoplasm| |exocytosis| |regulation of cellular catabolic process| |regulation of catabolic process| |secretion by cell| |export from cell| |secretion| |protein transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |nitrogen compound transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Cisplatin 0.35μM R06 exp273|-2.12| |HMS-I2 1μM R06 exp286|-2.06| |Sucrose 20000μM R06 exp298|-2.04| |TRAIL 50ng/ml R00 exp36|-2.01| |Daidzin 10μM R06 exp280|-1.88| |Cannabidiol 20μM R08 exp466|-1.82| |Chlorpromazine 10μM R07 exp344|1.75| |Salubrinal 20μM R07 exp399|1.77| |Tunicamycin 0.04μM R07 exp418|1.79| |Nifuroxazide 5μM R03 exp102|2.01| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
