Fructose-1,6-diphosphatase deficiency is associated with hypoglycemia and metabolic acidosis. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Catalyzes the hydrolysis of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate to fructose 6-phosphate in the presence of divalent cations, acting as a rate-limiting enzyme in gluconeogenesis. Plays a role in regulating glucose sensing and insulin secretion of pancreatic beta-cells. Appears to modulate glycerol gluconeogenesis in liver. Important regulator of appetite and adiposity; increased expression of the protein in liver after nutrient excess increases circulating satiety hormones and reduces appetite-stimulating neuropeptides and thus seems to provide a feedback mechanism to limit weight gain. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:16497803, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18375435, ECO:0000269|PubMed:22517657}. |FBPase| |fructose 1,6-bisphosphate 1-phosphatase activity| |sucrose biosynthetic process| |sucrose metabolic process| |disaccharide biosynthetic process| |cellular response to magnesium ion| |fructose 6-phosphate metabolic process| |fructose 1,6-bisphosphate metabolic process| |disaccharide metabolic process| |AMP binding| |negative regulation of glycolytic process| |monosaccharide binding| |fructose metabolic process| |oligosaccharide biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of purine nucleotide metabolic process| |negative regulation of nucleotide metabolic process| |response to magnesium ion| |negative regulation of ATP metabolic process| |negative regulation of cellular carbohydrate metabolic process| |gluconeogenesis| |regulation of gluconeogenesis| |hexose biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of carbohydrate metabolic process| |oligosaccharide metabolic process| |negative regulation of Ras protein signal transduction| |monosaccharide biosynthetic process| |cellular carbohydrate biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |RNA polymerase II transcription factor binding| |regulation of glycolytic process| |regulation of carbohydrate catabolic process| |negative regulation of small molecule metabolic process| |protein homotetramerization| |regulation of carbohydrate biosynthetic process| |glucose metabolic process| |regulation of glucose metabolic process| |regulation of purine nucleotide metabolic process| |regulation of nucleotide metabolic process| |regulation of ATP metabolic process| |carbohydrate biosynthetic process| |regulation of cellular carbohydrate metabolic process| |protein tetramerization| |hexose metabolic process| |regulation of generation of precursor metabolites and energy| |cellular carbohydrate metabolic process| |negative regulation of cell growth| |cellular response to metal ion| |monosaccharide metabolic process| |regulation of carbohydrate metabolic process| |cellular response to inorganic substance| |negative regulation of growth| |regulation of Ras protein signal transduction| |dephosphorylation| |negative regulation of catabolic process| |protein homooligomerization| |regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction| |response to metal ion| |cellular response to drug| |regulation of cell growth| |regulation of small molecule metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorylation| |carbohydrate metabolic process| |negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |protein complex oligomerization| |response to inorganic substance| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |small molecule biosynthetic process| |regulation of growth| |negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |organophosphate metabolic process| |regulation of catabolic process| |response to drug| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |identical protein binding| |negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |negative regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |negative regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |protein-containing complex assembly| |regulation of phosphorylation| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |negative regulation of gene expression| |small molecule metabolic process| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |protein-containing complex subunit organization| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp449|Arsenic trioxide 60μM R08 exp449]]|1.73| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
