The encoded protein is thought to play a role in the embryonic migration of gonadotropin-releasing hormone neurons into the brain. Mutations in this gene are associated with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism-22 with anosmia. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2014]. * **UniProt Summary**: Transcription repressor. Involved in the axonal projection and proper termination of olfactory sensory neurons (OSN). Plays a role in rostro-caudal patterning of the diencephalon and in prethalamic formation. Expression is required in OSN to cell-autonomously regulate OSN axon projections. Regulates non-cell-autonomously the layer formation of the olfactory bulb development and the interneurons. May be required for correct rostral migration of the interneuron progenitors (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |zf-C2H2| |forebrain anterior/posterior pattern specification| |cell dedifferentiation| |dedifferentiation| |forebrain regionalization| |olfactory bulb development| |olfactory lobe development| |neuron migration| |anterior/posterior pattern specification| |DNA-binding transcription repressor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |telencephalon development| |axon guidance| |neuron projection guidance| |regionalization| |positive regulation of neuron differentiation| |axonogenesis| |forebrain development| |axon development| |cell morphogenesis involved in neuron differentiation| |pattern specification process| |positive regulation of neurogenesis| |neuron projection morphogenesis| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection morphogenesis| |cell projection morphogenesis| |RNA polymerase II proximal promoter sequence-specific DNA binding| |cell part morphogenesis| |positive regulation of nervous system development| |positive regulation of cell development| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |regulation of neuron differentiation| |neuron projection development| |negative regulation of cell population proliferation| |cell morphogenesis| |brain development| |head development| |neuron development| |regulation of neurogenesis| |cellular component morphogenesis| |negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |cell migration| |positive regulation of cell differentiation| |central nervous system development| |neuron differentiation| |cell motility| |localization of cell| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |negative regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |negative regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |negative regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |locomotion| |negative regulation of RNA metabolic process| |positive regulation of developmental process| |negative regulation of cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |negative regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |generation of neurons| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |negative regulation of biosynthetic process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |neurogenesis| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |cell development| |negative regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
