Severs microtubules along their length and depolymerizes their ends, primarily the minus-end, that may lead to the suppression of microtubule growth from and attachment to centrosomes. Microtubule severing may promote rapid reorganization of cellular microtubule arrays and the release of microtubules from the centrosome following nucleation. Microtubule release from the mitotic spindle poles may allow depolymerization of the microtubule end proximal to the spindle pole, leading to poleward microtubule flux and poleward motion of chromosome. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22672901}. |AAA| |microtubule-severing ATPase activity| |microtubule severing| |regulation of double-strand break repair via homologous recombination| |cytoplasmic microtubule organization| |regulation of double-strand break repair| |regulation of DNA recombination| |nuclear matrix| |regulation of DNA repair| |microtubule organizing center| |protein C-terminus binding| |regulation of response to DNA damage stimulus| |ATPase activity| |microtubule| |regulation of DNA metabolic process| |supramolecular fiber organization| |microtubule cytoskeleton organization| |cell division| |microtubule-based process| |regulation of cellular response to stress| |cytoskeleton organization| |cell cycle| |regulation of response to stress| |ATP binding| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp46|HMS-I1 1μM R01 exp46]]|-2.23| |[[:results:exp288|HMS-I2 10μM R06 exp288]]|-1.7| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
