Inhibits activin A-, activin B-, BMP2- and MSDT-induced cellular signaling; more effective on activin A than on activin B. Involved in bone formation; inhibits osteoclast differentiationc. Involved in hematopoiesis; involved in differentiation of hemopoietic progenitor cells, increases hematopoietic cell adhesion to fibronectin and seems to contribute to the adhesion of hematopoietic precursor cells to the bone marrow stroma. Isoform 2 or the nuclear form is probably involved in transcriptional regulation via interaction with MLLT10. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:11948405, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15451575, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15574124, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16336961, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17868029, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17878677}. |Kazal 1| |FOLN| |Kazal 2| |negative regulation of activin receptor signaling pathway| |activin binding| |neuron projection terminus| |regulation of activin receptor signaling pathway| |adrenal gland development| |negative regulation of osteoclast differentiation| |fibronectin binding| |negative regulation of myeloid leukocyte differentiation| |negative regulation of BMP signaling pathway| |regulation of osteoclast differentiation| |negative regulation of myeloid cell differentiation| |secretory granule| |hematopoietic progenitor cell differentiation| |regulation of BMP signaling pathway| |negative regulation of leukocyte differentiation| |negative regulation of transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway| |regulation of myeloid leukocyte differentiation| |endocrine system development| |male gonad development| |development of primary male sexual characteristics| |negative regulation of hemopoiesis| |negative regulation of cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |male sex differentiation| |lung development| |respiratory tube development| |cellular response to metal ion| |respiratory system development| |gonad development| |development of primary sexual characteristics| |cellular response to inorganic substance| |regulation of myeloid cell differentiation| |regulation of transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway| |positive regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |ossification| |sex differentiation| |kidney development| |regulation of cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |regulation of leukocyte differentiation| |renal system development| |endoplasmic reticulum lumen| |urogenital system development| |post-translational protein modification| |response to metal ion| |regulation of cell-cell adhesion| |positive regulation of cell adhesion| |gland development| |reproductive structure development| |reproductive system development| |negative regulation of immune system process| |regulation of hemopoiesis| |response to inorganic substance| |spermatogenesis| |hemopoiesis| |male gamete generation| |hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development| |immune system development| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |regulation of cell adhesion| |gamete generation| |negative regulation of cell differentiation| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |tube development| |negative regulation of developmental process| |Golgi apparatus| |multi-organism reproductive process| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |extracellular space| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |regulation of immune system process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |extracellular region| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp130|JQ1 0.01μM R03 exp130]]|-1.89| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
