The encoded protein plays a role in microtubule plus end-directed transport of autophagic vesicles through interactions with the small GTPase Rab7, phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate (PI3P) and the autophagosome marker LC3. Mutations in this gene are a cause of autosomal recessive congenital cataract-2 (CATC2). [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: May mediate microtubule plus end-directed vesicle transport. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:20100911}. |FYVE| |RUN| |plus-end-directed vesicle transport along microtubule| |positive regulation of autophagosome maturation| |plus-end-directed organelle transport along microtubule| |regulation of autophagosome maturation| |positive regulation of protein complex disassembly| |vesicle transport along microtubule| |vesicle cytoskeletal trafficking| |positive regulation of macroautophagy| |autophagosome| |organelle transport along microtubule| |regulation of protein complex disassembly| |positive regulation of autophagy| |late endosome| |transport along microtubule| |regulation of macroautophagy| |establishment of vesicle localization| |cytoskeleton-dependent intracellular transport| |microtubule-based transport| |vesicle localization| |lysosome| |microtubule-based movement| |regulation of autophagy| |establishment of organelle localization| |positive regulation of cellular catabolic process| |positive regulation of catabolic process| |organelle localization| |positive regulation of organelle organization| |microtubule-based process| |intracellular membrane-bounded organelle| |regulation of cellular catabolic process| |Golgi apparatus| |regulation of catabolic process| |positive regulation of cellular component organization| |regulation of organelle organization| |intracellular transport| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |establishment of localization in cell| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp23|Nocodazole 0.02μM R00 exp23]]|-1.9| |[[:results:exp135|MS023 7μM R03 exp135]]|-1.88| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
