Members of the glypican-related integral membrane proteoglycan family (GRIPS) contain a core protein anchored to the cytoplasmic membrane via a glycosyl phosphatidylinositol linkage. These proteins may play a role in the control of cell division and growth regulation. The GPC4 gene is adjacent to the 3' end of GPC3 and may also play a role in Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Cell surface proteoglycan that bears heparan sulfate. May be involved in the development of kidney tubules and of the central nervous system (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |Glypican| |anchored component of presynaptic membrane| |coreceptor activity involved in Wnt signaling pathway, planar cell polarity pathway| |regulation of neurotransmitter receptor localization to postsynaptic specialization membrane| |regulation of receptor localization to synapse| |synaptic membrane adhesion| |regulation of protein localization to synapse| |regulation of presynapse assembly| |regulation of presynapse organization| |glycosaminoglycan catabolic process| |aminoglycan catabolic process| |lysosomal lumen| |Wnt signaling pathway, planar cell polarity pathway| |Golgi lumen| |glycosaminoglycan biosynthetic process| |retinoid metabolic process| |regulation of synapse assembly| |aminoglycan biosynthetic process| |diterpenoid metabolic process| |regulation of establishment of planar polarity| |regulation of protein localization to cell periphery| |terpenoid metabolic process| |non-canonical Wnt signaling pathway| |isoprenoid metabolic process| |glycosaminoglycan metabolic process| |aminoglycan metabolic process| |regulation of morphogenesis of an epithelium| |regulation of protein localization to membrane| |carbohydrate derivative catabolic process| |regulation of synapse organization| |regulation of synapse structure or activity| |regulation of animal organ morphogenesis| |cell-cell adhesion via plasma-membrane adhesion molecules| |synapse| |synapse organization| |glutamatergic synapse| |cell-cell signaling by wnt| |Wnt signaling pathway| |collagen-containing extracellular matrix| |external side of plasma membrane| |cell surface receptor signaling pathway involved in cell-cell signaling| |cell-cell adhesion| |regulation of cellular protein localization| |cell surface| |carbohydrate derivative biosynthetic process| |regulation of cellular localization| |regulation of nervous system development| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |regulation of cellular component biogenesis| |cell migration| |regulation of protein localization| |carbohydrate derivative metabolic process| |macromolecule catabolic process| |organonitrogen compound catabolic process| |regulation of anatomical structure morphogenesis| |cell motility| |localization of cell| |cell-cell signaling| |lipid metabolic process| |locomotion| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |extracellular region| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |2-Methoxyestradiol 0.2μM R01 exp40|-2.23| |AICAR 240μM R05 exp211|-1.88| |Nicotinamide 2000μM R01 exp50|-1.79| ^Gene^Correlation^ |RRM1|0.546| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/694 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/26| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/30| |central nervous system|0/49| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/11| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/14| |kidney|0/18| |liver|0/19| |lung|0/72| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/25| |pancreas|0/22| |peripheral nervous system|0/15| |plasma cell|0/12| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/20| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/28| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 15348 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: -7.68
