Component of the FTS/Hook/FHIP complex (FHF complex). The FHF complex may function to promote vesicle trafficking and/or fusion via the homotypic vesicular protein sorting complex (the HOPS complex). May regulate clearance of endocytosed receptors such as MSR1. Participates in defining the architecture and localization of the Golgi complex. Acts as an adapter protein linking the dynein motor complex to various cargos and converts dynein from a non- processive to a highly processive motor in the presence of dynactin. Facilitates the interaction between dynein and dynactin and activates dynein processivity (the ability to move along a microtubule for a long distance without falling off the track) (PubMed:25035494). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q8BUK6, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11238449, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17237231, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18799622, ECO:0000269|PubMed:25035494}. |HOOK| |FHF complex| |interkinetic nuclear migration| |microtubule anchoring at centrosome| |dynactin binding| |microtubule anchoring at microtubule organizing center| |HOPS complex| |Golgi localization| |protein localization to microtubule organizing center| |pericentriolar material| |protein localization to centrosome| |early endosome to late endosome transport| |nuclear migration| |neuronal stem cell population maintenance| |vesicle-mediated transport between endosomal compartments| |dynein light chain binding| |microtubule anchoring| |nucleus localization| |cell proliferation in forebrain| |dynein light intermediate chain binding| |dynein intermediate chain binding| |centriolar satellite| |protein localization to microtubule cytoskeleton| |protein localization to cytoskeleton| |endosome to lysosome transport| |cytoplasmic microtubule organization| |lysosome organization| |lytic vacuole organization| |cis-Golgi network| |neural precursor cell proliferation| |endosome organization| |lysosomal transport| |vacuole organization| |stem cell population maintenance| |maintenance of cell number| |vacuolar transport| |cytosolic transport| |cytoskeleton-dependent intracellular transport| |microtubule binding| |negative regulation of neurogenesis| |vesicle organization| |negative regulation of nervous system development| |microtubule| |negative regulation of cell development| |establishment of organelle localization| |forebrain development| |endomembrane system organization| |supramolecular fiber organization| |microtubule cytoskeleton organization| |centrosome| |cell population proliferation| |organelle localization| |microtubule-based process| |negative regulation of cell differentiation| |protein localization to organelle| |brain development| |head development| |regulation of neurogenesis| |regulation of nervous system development| |regulation of cell development| |negative regulation of developmental process| |central nervous system development| |identical protein binding| |cytoskeleton organization| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |generation of neurons| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |neurogenesis| |regulation of cell differentiation| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found. ^Gene^Correlation^ |[[:human genes:h:hgc6.3|HGC6.3]]|0.533| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 8697 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: 6.12 {{:chemogenomics:nalm6 dist.png?nolink |}}
