Expression of these proteins is spatially and temporally regulated during embryonic development. This gene is part of the A cluster on chromosome 7 and encodes a DNA-binding transcription factor which may regulate gene expression, morphogenesis, and differentiation. This gene is highly similar to the abdominal-B (Abd-B) gene of Drosophila. A specific translocation event which causes a fusion between this gene and the NUP98 gene has been associated with myeloid leukemogenesis. Read-through transcription exists between this gene and the upstream homeobox A10 (HOXA10) gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: Sequence-specific transcription factor which is part of a developmental regulatory system that provides cells with specific positional identities on the anterior-posterior axis. Required for induction of E-selectin and VCAM-1, on the endothelial cells surface at sites of inflammation. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:22269951}. |Hox9 act| |Homeobox| |endothelial cell activation| |definitive hemopoiesis| |uterus development| |proximal/distal pattern formation| |embryonic forelimb morphogenesis| |forelimb morphogenesis| |negative regulation of myeloid cell differentiation| |embryonic appendage morphogenesis| |embryonic limb morphogenesis| |embryonic skeletal system development| |mammary gland development| |male gonad development| |development of primary male sexual characteristics| |negative regulation of hemopoiesis| |single fertilization| |appendage morphogenesis| |limb morphogenesis| |male sex differentiation| |fertilization| |limb development| |appendage development| |transcription factor complex| |gonad development| |development of primary sexual characteristics| |anterior/posterior pattern specification| |regulation of myeloid cell differentiation| |sex differentiation| |regionalization| |enzyme binding| |gland development| |reproductive structure development| |reproductive system development| |pattern specification process| |negative regulation of immune system process| |regulation of hemopoiesis| |skeletal system development| |RNA polymerase II proximal promoter sequence-specific DNA binding| |spermatogenesis| |hemopoiesis| |male gamete generation| |embryonic morphogenesis| |hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development| |chordate embryonic development| |transcription, DNA-templated| |nucleic acid-templated transcription| |immune system development| |embryo development ending in birth or egg hatching| |RNA biosynthetic process| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |gamete generation| |negative regulation of cell differentiation| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |negative regulation of developmental process| |embryo development| |multi-organism reproductive process| |cell activation| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |DNA-binding transcription factor activity, RNA polymerase II-specific| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |regulation of immune system process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Epigallocatechin gallate 20μM R05 exp230|-2.42| |BI-D1870 2μM R04 exp162|-1.91| |MLN-4924 0.2μM R00 exp21|-1.74| |Nocodazole 0.2μM R00 exp24|1.74| |Nocodazole 0.2μM R02 exp64|1.74| |R-DABN 8μM R03 exp111|1.81| |THZ1 0.06μM R08 exp531|1.88| |HMS-I1 10μM R06 exp256|2.11| |Rotenone 2μM R00 exp33|2.37| |Nocodazole 0.1μM R03 exp94|3.31| |DABN racemic mixture R03 exp93|4.54| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
