The enzyme catalyzes the conversion of PGH2 to PGD2 and plays a role in the production of prostanoids in the immune system and mast cells. The presence of this enzyme can be used to identify the differentiation stage of human megakaryocytes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Bifunctional enzyme which catalyzes both the conversion of PGH2 to PGD2, a prostaglandin involved in smooth muscle contraction/relaxation and a potent inhibitor of platelet aggregation, and the conjugation of glutathione with a wide range of aryl halides and organic isothiocyanates. Also exhibits low glutathione-peroxidase activity towards cumene hydroperoxide. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:10824118, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11672424, ECO:0000269|PubMed:12627223, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15113825, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16547010, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19939518, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9353279, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9425264}. |GST C| |GST N| |prostaglandin-D synthase activity| |negative regulation of male germ cell proliferation| |negative regulation of germ cell proliferation| |regulation of germ cell proliferation| |regulation of male germ cell proliferation| |cyclooxygenase pathway| |prostaglandin biosynthetic process| |prostanoid biosynthetic process| |glutathione derivative metabolic process| |glutathione derivative biosynthetic process| |glutathione transferase activity| |prostaglandin metabolic process| |prostanoid metabolic process| |unsaturated fatty acid biosynthetic process| |icosanoid biosynthetic process| |glutathione metabolic process| |negative regulation of reproductive process| |arachidonic acid metabolic process| |fatty acid derivative biosynthetic process| |unsaturated fatty acid metabolic process| |icosanoid metabolic process| |long-chain fatty acid metabolic process| |fatty acid biosynthetic process| |regulation of reproductive process| |fatty acid derivative metabolic process| |sulfur compound biosynthetic process| |monocarboxylic acid biosynthetic process| |locomotory behavior| |cellular modified amino acid metabolic process| |negative regulation of multi-organism process| |magnesium ion binding| |carboxylic acid biosynthetic process| |organic acid biosynthetic process| |fatty acid metabolic process| |sulfur compound metabolic process| |cofactor metabolic process| |peptide metabolic process| |monocarboxylic acid metabolic process| |behavior| |lipid biosynthetic process| |small molecule biosynthetic process| |negative regulation of cell population proliferation| |calcium ion binding| |regulation of multi-organism process| |cellular amide metabolic process| |protein homodimerization activity| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |cellular lipid metabolic process| |oxoacid metabolic process| |organic acid metabolic process| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |lipid metabolic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |small molecule metabolic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
