This cytokine is expressed by activated T cells, and has been shown to stimulate the production of several other cytokines, including IL6, IL8, and CSF2/GM_CSF. This cytokine is also found to inhibit the angiogenesis of endothelial cells and induce endothelial cells to produce IL2, TGFB1/TGFB, and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Ligand for IL17RA and IL17RC (PubMed:17911633). The heterodimer formed by IL17A and IL17F is a ligand for the heterodimeric complex formed by IL17RA and IL17RC (PubMed:18684971). Involved in stimulating the production of other cytokines such as IL6, IL8 and CSF2, and in regulation of cartilage matrix turnover (PubMed:11591732, PubMed:11591768, PubMed:11574464). Also involved in stimulating the proliferation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and T-cells and in inhibition of angiogenesis (PubMed:11591732). Plays a role in the induction of neutrophilia in the lungs and in the exacerbation of antigen-induced pulmonary allergic inflammation (By similarity). {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q7TNI7, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11574464, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11591732, ECO:0000269|PubMed:11591768, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17911633, ECO:0000269|PubMed:18684971}. |IL17| |lymphotoxin A biosynthetic process| |lymphotoxin A production| |regulation of granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor biosynthetic process| |response to interleukin-17| |cellular response to interleukin-17| |interleukin-17-mediated signaling pathway| |tumor necrosis factor superfamily cytokine production| |cytokine receptor binding| |cytokine biosynthetic process| |regulation of granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor production| |cytokine metabolic process| |regulation of interleukin-8 biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cytokine production involved in inflammatory response| |regulation of interleukin-2 biosynthetic process| |regulation of interleukin-6 biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of interleukin-6 secretion| |regulation of cytokine production involved in inflammatory response| |cytokine binding| |regulation of interleukin-2 production| |regulation of interleukin-8 production| |positive regulation of interleukin-6 production| |negative regulation of angiogenesis| |negative regulation of blood vessel morphogenesis| |regulation of cytokine biosynthetic process| |regulation of transforming growth factor beta receptor signaling pathway| |negative regulation of vasculature development| |regulation of cellular response to transforming growth factor beta stimulus| |positive regulation of inflammatory response| |positive regulation of cytokine secretion| |regulation of interleukin-6 production| |cytokine production| |cartilage development| |cytokine activity| |regulation of cytokine secretion| |connective tissue development| |regulation of transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway| |positive regulation of protein secretion| |regulation of cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |regulation of angiogenesis| |positive regulation of peptide secretion| |regulation of vasculature development| |regulation of inflammatory response| |positive regulation of secretion by cell| |positive regulation of protein transport| |positive regulation of secretion| |positive regulation of cytokine production| |positive regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of protein secretion| |positive regulation of defense response| |regulation of peptide secretion| |skeletal system development| |inflammatory response| |positive regulation of response to external stimulus| |cytokine-mediated signaling pathway| |regulation of cytokine production| |regulation of protein transport| |regulation of peptide transport| |regulation of establishment of protein localization| |regulation of secretion by cell| |regulation of defense response| |regulation of secretion| |protein homodimerization activity| |negative regulation of developmental process| |positive regulation of transport| |cellular response to cytokine stimulus| |regulation of protein localization| |regulation of anatomical structure morphogenesis| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |response to cytokine| |negative regulation of multicellular organismal process| |positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II| |defense response| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |regulation of response to stress| |positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated| |extracellular space| |positive regulation of nucleic acid-templated transcription| |positive regulation of RNA biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of RNA metabolic process| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |tissue development| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |regulation of transport| |positive regulation of nucleobase-containing compound metabolic process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |extracellular region| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of gene expression| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
