The expression of this gene can be induced by interleukin 4 in B cells, however, expression of transcripts containing the first two exons of the upstream gene is found in other cell types. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2012]. * **UniProt Summary**: Lysosomal L-amino-acid oxidase with highest specific activity with phenylalanine. May play a role in lysosomal antigen processing and presentation (By similarity). {ECO:0000250}. |FAD binding 2| |Amino oxidase| |Thi4| |DAO| |Pyr redox| |HI0933 like| |L-amino-acid oxidase activity| |erythrose 4-phosphate/phosphoenolpyruvate family amino acid metabolic process| |L-phenylalanine catabolic process| |L-phenylalanine metabolic process| |erythrose 4-phosphate/phosphoenolpyruvate family amino acid catabolic process| |aromatic amino acid family catabolic process| |aromatic amino acid family metabolic process| |alpha-amino acid catabolic process| |oxidoreductase activity| |cellular amino acid catabolic process| |drug catabolic process| |alpha-amino acid metabolic process| |lysosome| |organic acid catabolic process| |carboxylic acid catabolic process| |cellular amino acid metabolic process| |small molecule catabolic process| |aromatic compound catabolic process| |organic cyclic compound catabolic process| |drug metabolic process| |carboxylic acid metabolic process| |oxidation-reduction process| |oxoacid metabolic process| |organic acid metabolic process| |organonitrogen compound catabolic process| |small molecule metabolic process| |organic substance catabolic process| |cellular catabolic process| |extracellular region| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp436|Dynasore 7μM R08 exp436]]|-1.82| |[[:results:exp281|Disulfiram 4.3μM R06 exp281]]|2.28| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
