Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane glycoproteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain that mediate cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion. The protein encoded by this gene, when bound to the beta 1 chain, forms an integrin that is a receptor for VCAM1, cytotactin and osteopontin. Expression of this gene has been found to be upregulated in small cell lung cancers. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Integrin alpha-9/beta-1 (ITGA9:ITGB1) is a receptor for VCAM1, cytotactin and osteopontin. It recognizes the sequence A-E- I-D-G-I-E-L in cytotactin. {ECO:0000250}. |Integrin alpha2| |FG-GAP| |integrin alpha9-beta1 complex| |laminin binding| |integrin complex| |basal plasma membrane| |collagen binding| |neutrophil chemotaxis| |granulocyte chemotaxis| |neutrophil migration| |integrin-mediated signaling pathway| |granulocyte migration| |myeloid leukocyte migration| |leukocyte chemotaxis| |cell chemotaxis| |extracellular matrix organization| |leukocyte migration| |extracellular structure organization| |wound healing| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |response to wounding| |cell adhesion| |biological adhesion| |cell migration| |localization of cell| |cell motility| |locomotion| |movement of cell or subcellular component| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp470|Chloroquine 32μM R08 exp470]]|1.7| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
