Members of this family are part of a multisubunit complex that functions as a microtubule motor in intracellular organelle transport. Mutations in this gene cause autosomal dominant spastic paraplegia 10. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. * **UniProt Summary**: Microtubule-dependent motor required for slow axonal transport of neurofilament proteins (NFH, NFM and NFL). Can induce formation of neurite-like membrane protrusions in non-neuronal cells in a ZFYVE27-dependent manner. The ZFYVE27-KIF5A complex contributes to the vesicular transport of VAPA, VAPB, SURF4, RAB11A, RAB11B and RTN3 proteins in neurons. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:P33175}. |Kinesin| |anterograde dendritic transport of neurotransmitter receptor complex| |retrograde neuronal dense core vesicle transport| |anterograde dendritic transport| |dense core granule transport| |dense core granule cytoskeletal transport| |dense core granule localization| |anterograde axonal protein transport| |dendritic transport| |protein localization to presynapse| |ciliary rootlet| |secretory granule localization| |axo-dendritic protein transport| |retrograde axonal transport| |ATP-dependent microtubule motor activity, plus-end-directed| |dendrite cytoplasm| |neurotransmitter receptor transport| |synaptic vesicle transport| |synaptic vesicle localization| |receptor localization to synapse| |kinesin binding| |anterograde axonal transport| |vesicle transport along microtubule| |motor activity| |vesicle cytoskeletal trafficking| |kinesin complex| |axonal transport| |axon cytoplasm| |protein localization to synapse| |axo-dendritic transport| |microtubule motor activity| |protein transport along microtubule| |microtubule-based protein transport| |organelle transport along microtubule| |retrograde vesicle-mediated transport, Golgi to endoplasmic reticulum| |antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class II| |antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen via MHC class II| |antigen processing and presentation of peptide or polysaccharide antigen via MHC class II| |cytosolic transport| |transport along microtubule| |establishment of vesicle localization| |cytoskeleton-dependent intracellular transport| |antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen| |microtubule-based transport| |antigen processing and presentation of exogenous antigen| |vesicle localization| |antigen processing and presentation of peptide antigen| |antigen processing and presentation| |ATPase activity| |microtubule binding| |protein-containing complex localization| |axon guidance| |neuron projection guidance| |microtubule-based movement| |microtubule| |establishment of organelle localization| |neuronal cell body| |axonogenesis| |Golgi vesicle transport| |axon development| |chemical synaptic transmission| |anterograde trans-synaptic signaling| |cell morphogenesis involved in neuron differentiation| |trans-synaptic signaling| |synaptic signaling| |neuron projection morphogenesis| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection morphogenesis| |cell projection morphogenesis| |cell part morphogenesis| |chemotaxis| |taxis| |cell morphogenesis involved in differentiation| |organelle localization| |neuron projection development| |microtubule-based process| |perinuclear region of cytoplasm| |cell morphogenesis| |neuron development| |cellular component morphogenesis| |intracellular protein transport| |neuron differentiation| |cell-cell signaling| |plasma membrane bounded cell projection organization| |cell projection organization| |locomotion| |ATP binding| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |generation of neurons| |peptide transport| |movement of cell or subcellular component| |amide transport| |cellular protein localization| |cellular macromolecule localization| |establishment of protein localization| |neurogenesis| |cell development| |establishment of localization in cell| |nitrogen compound transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| |membrane| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp501|Methotrexate 0.01μM R08 exp501]]|-1.91| |[[:results:exp453|B02 10μM R08 exp453]]|1.71| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
