The encoded protein is a component of a complex with cullin 3-based E3 ligase, which plays a role in mitosis. This protein complex is a cell cycle regulator, and functions in the organization and integrity of the spindle midzone in anaphase and the completion of cytokinesis. The complex is required for the removal of the chromosomal passenger protein aurora B from mitotic chromosomes. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]. * **UniProt Summary**: Substrate-specific adapter of a BCR (BTB-CUL3-RBX1) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex required for mitotic progression and cytokinesis. The BCR(KLHL9-KLHL13) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex mediates the ubiquitination of AURKB and controls the dynamic behavior of AURKB on mitotic chromosomes and thereby coordinates faithful mitotic progression and completion of cytokinesis. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:14528312, ECO:0000269|PubMed:17543862, ECO:0000269|PubMed:19995937}. |BACK| |Kelch 1| |BTB| |Cul3-RING ubiquitin ligase complex| |regulation of cytokinesis| |midbody| |regulation of cell division| |ubiquitin-protein transferase activity| |post-translational protein modification| |cell division| |protein ubiquitination| |regulation of cell cycle process| |protein modification by small protein conjugation| |protein modification by small protein conjugation or removal| |regulation of cell cycle| |cell cycle| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Docetaxel 0.002μM R01 exp45|-2.45| |Oligomycin-A 2μM R00 exp25|1.85| |4-Nitroquinoline-1-oxide 0.5μM R08 exp446|1.88| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
