It contains N-terminal transmembrane helices and a long C-terminal cytoplasmic tail with serine/threonine/tyrosine kinase activity. This protein interacts with several other proteins, such as Inhibitor-2 (Inh2), protein phosphatase-1 (PP1C), p35, and myosin VI. It phosporylates other proteins, and is itself also phosporylated when interacting with cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (cdk5)/p35 complex. This protein involves in nerve growth factor (NGF)-TrkA signalling, and also plays a critical role in endosomal membrane trafficking. Mouse studies suggested an essential role of this protein in spermatogenesis. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2009]. * **UniProt Summary**: Phosphorylates PPP1C, phosphorylase b and CFTR. |Pkinase Tyr| |Pkinase| |myosin VI binding| |receptor recycling| |early endosome to late endosome transport| |vesicle-mediated transport between endosomal compartments| |protein phosphatase inhibitor activity| |transferrin transport| |endocytic recycling| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase activity| |negative regulation of phosphoprotein phosphatase activity| |negative regulation of protein dephosphorylation| |iron ion transport| |peptidyl-threonine phosphorylation| |peptidyl-threonine modification| |receptor metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphatase activity| |negative regulation of dephosphorylation| |recycling endosome| |regulation of phosphoprotein phosphatase activity| |transition metal ion transport| |growth cone| |regulation of protein dephosphorylation| |peptidyl-tyrosine phosphorylation| |cytosolic transport| |peptidyl-tyrosine modification| |peptidyl-serine phosphorylation| |regulation of phosphatase activity| |protein autophosphorylation| |peptidyl-serine modification| |receptor complex| |regulation of dephosphorylation| |endosomal transport| |early endosome| |protein serine/threonine kinase activity| |neuronal cell body| |negative regulation of hydrolase activity| |transmembrane receptor protein tyrosine kinase signaling pathway| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |metal ion transport| |perinuclear region of cytoplasm| |enzyme linked receptor protein signaling pathway| |negative regulation of catalytic activity| |cation transport| |peptidyl-amino acid modification| |protein phosphorylation| |Golgi apparatus| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |negative regulation of molecular function| |regulation of hydrolase activity| |phosphorylation| |ion transport| |integral component of plasma membrane| |ATP binding| |protein transport| |intracellular transport| |peptide transport| |amide transport| |establishment of protein localization| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |establishment of localization in cell| |regulation of protein modification process| |nitrogen compound transport| |vesicle-mediated transport| \\ === CRISPR Data === No hits were found.
