Acts specifically as a functional antagonist of AGTR1 (angiotensin-2 type 1 receptor), although it up-regulates AGTR1 receptor levels. Positive regulation of AGTR1 levels occurs through activation of the G-proteins GNA11 and GNAQ, and stimulation of the protein kinase C signaling cascade. The antagonist effect on AGTR1 function is probably due to AGTR1 being physically altered by MAS1. {ECO:0000250, ECO:0000269|PubMed:15809376, ECO:0000269|PubMed:16611642}. |7tm 1| |angiotensin receptor activity| |angiotensin type II receptor activity| |angiotensin-activated signaling pathway| |positive regulation of inositol phosphate biosynthetic process| |protein kinase C signaling| |regulation of inositol phosphate biosynthetic process| |activation of NF-kappaB-inducing kinase activity| |cellular response to angiotensin| |positive regulation of alcohol biosynthetic process| |response to angiotensin| |response to gonadotropin| |positive regulation of DNA replication| |peptide binding| |positive regulation of cellular carbohydrate metabolic process| |response to activity| |regulation of alcohol biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of NIK/NF-kappaB signaling| |positive regulation of carbohydrate metabolic process| |NIK/NF-kappaB signaling| |hippocampus development| |regulation of carbohydrate biosynthetic process| |regulation of DNA replication| |limbic system development| |regulation of NIK/NF-kappaB signaling| |male gonad development| |development of primary male sexual characteristics| |positive regulation of small molecule metabolic process| |regulation of cellular carbohydrate metabolic process| |male sex differentiation| |pallium development| |regulation of carbohydrate metabolic process| |gonad development| |development of primary sexual characteristics| |telencephalon development| |sex differentiation| |cellular response to peptide hormone stimulus| |cellular response to peptide| |activation of protein kinase activity| |regulation of inflammatory response| |forebrain development| |response to peptide hormone| |negative regulation of protein phosphorylation| |reproductive structure development| |regulation of small molecule metabolic process| |reproductive system development| |negative regulation of phosphorylation| |response to peptide| |positive regulation of protein kinase activity| |spermatogenesis| |negative regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |negative regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |male gamete generation| |positive regulation of kinase activity| |negative regulation of protein modification process| |cellular response to organonitrogen compound| |cellular response to hormone stimulus| |cell surface| |positive regulation of transferase activity| |cellular response to nitrogen compound| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |gamete generation| |G protein-coupled receptor activity| |brain development| |regulation of defense response| |head development| |regulation of protein kinase activity| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |regulation of kinase activity| |response to hormone| |positive regulation of cell population proliferation| |regulation of transferase activity| |central nervous system development| |multi-organism reproductive process| |response to organonitrogen compound| |positive regulation of protein phosphorylation| |response to drug| |positive regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |negative regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |cellular response to oxygen-containing compound| |positive regulation of phosphorylation| |response to nitrogen compound| |regulation of response to external stimulus| |negative regulation of protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |positive regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |positive regulation of protein modification process| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |integral component of plasma membrane| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |positive regulation of catalytic activity| |regulation of protein phosphorylation| |response to endogenous stimulus| |regulation of response to stress| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |regulation of phosphorylation| |positive regulation of cellular protein metabolic process| |regulation of cell population proliferation| |positive regulation of signal transduction| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of protein metabolic process| |positive regulation of molecular function| |regulation of phosphate metabolic process| |regulation of phosphorus metabolic process| |positive regulation of cell communication| |positive regulation of signaling| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |regulation of protein modification process| |positive regulation of macromolecule biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of cellular biosynthetic process| |positive regulation of biosynthetic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp372|Ibrutinib 1μM R07 exp372]]|-2.03| |[[:results:exp50|Nicotinamide 2000μM R01 exp50]]|1.74| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
