Translocations between this gene and nucleophosmin have been associated with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myeloid leukemia. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]. * **UniProt Summary**: Involved in lineage commitment of primary hemopoietic progenitors by restricting erythroid formation and enhancing myeloid formation. Interferes with erythropoietin-induced erythroid terminal differentiation by preventing cells from exiting the cell cycle through suppression of CDKN1B/p27Kip1 levels. Suppresses RFWD2/COP1 activity via CSN3 which activates p53 and induces cell cycle arrest. Binds DNA and affects the expression of a number of genes so may function as a transcription factor in the nucleus. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:15861129}. |Mlf1IP| |myeloid progenitor cell differentiation| |hematopoietic progenitor cell differentiation| |ciliary basal body| |cell cycle arrest| |cilium| |protein domain specific binding| |hemopoiesis| |negative regulation of cell cycle| |hematopoietic or lymphoid organ development| |transcription, DNA-templated| |nucleic acid-templated transcription| |immune system development| |RNA biosynthetic process| |cell cycle process| |nucleobase-containing compound biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |regulation of cell cycle| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |cell cycle| |DNA binding| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |RNA metabolic process| |cellular macromolecule biosynthetic process| |macromolecule biosynthetic process| |gene expression| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Citral 75μM R06 exp275|-1.71| |Rapamycin 10μM R00 exp30|1.7| |CCT251545 20μM R07 exp326|1.75| |Rifampicin 1μM R00 exp31|2.08| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
