Mutations in the gene are the cause of vitamin B12-dependent methylmalonic aciduria linked to the cblB complementation group. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: Adenosyltransferase involved in intracellular vitamin B12 metabolism. Generates adenosylcobalamin (AdoCbl) and directly delivers the cofactor to MUT in a transfer taht is stimulated by ATP-binding to MMAB and gated by MMAA. {ECO:0000305|PubMed:28497574}. |Cob adeno trans| |cob(I)yrinic acid a,c-diamide adenosyltransferase activity| |cobalamin biosynthetic process| |water-soluble vitamin biosynthetic process| |cobalamin binding| |vitamin biosynthetic process| |cobalamin metabolic process| |tetrapyrrole biosynthetic process| |tetrapyrrole metabolic process| |water-soluble vitamin metabolic process| |vitamin metabolic process| |cofactor biosynthetic process| |mitochondrial matrix| |cofactor metabolic process| |drug metabolic process| |small molecule biosynthetic process| |heterocycle biosynthetic process| |aromatic compound biosynthetic process| |organic cyclic compound biosynthetic process| |organonitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |ATP binding| |cellular nitrogen compound biosynthetic process| |small molecule metabolic process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |Tanespimycin 14μM R08 exp527|-1.93| |RO-3307 4.7μM R02 exp80|1.96| ^Gene^Correlation^ |RUVBL2|0.419| Global Fraction of Cell Lines Where Essential: 0/739 ^Tissue^Fraction Of Cell Lines Where Essential^ |1290807.0|0/1| |909776.0|0/1| |bile duct|0/28| |blood|0/28| |bone|0/26| |breast|0/33| |central nervous system|0/56| |cervix|0/4| |colorectal|0/17| |esophagus|0/13| |fibroblast|0/1| |gastric|0/16| |kidney|0/21| |liver|0/20| |lung|0/75| |lymphocyte|0/16| |ovary|0/26| |pancreas|0/24| |peripheral nervous system|0/16| |plasma cell|0/15| |prostate|0/1| |skin|0/24| |soft tissue|0/9| |thyroid|0/2| |upper aerodigestive|0/22| |urinary tract|0/29| |uterus|0/5| == Essentiality in NALM6 == * **Essentiality Rank**: 7662 * **Expression level (log2 read counts)**: 4.95
