The encoded protein mediates platelet aggregation and also plays important roles in cardiovascular function by regulating vascular smooth muscle contraction and relaxation. Inhibitors of the encoded protein may be effective in treating congestive heart failure. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2011]. * **UniProt Summary**: Cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase with a dual- specificity for the second messengers cAMP and cGMP, which are key regulators of many important physiological processes. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q9Z0X4}. |PDEase I| |cGMP-inhibited cyclic-nucleotide phosphodiesterase activity| |positive regulation of oocyte development| |positive regulation of oogenesis| |cellular response to cGMP| |response to cGMP| |regulation of oocyte development| |regulation of oogenesis| |positive regulation of vascular permeability| |negative regulation of vascular permeability| |3,5-cyclic-AMP phosphodiesterase activity| |oocyte maturation| |negative regulation of cAMP-mediated signaling| |cGMP-mediated signaling| |regulation of meiotic nuclear division| |regulation of vascular permeability| |oocyte development| |oocyte differentiation| |regulation of meiotic cell cycle| |regulation of cAMP-mediated signaling| |oogenesis| |positive regulation of reproductive process| |female gamete generation| |anatomical structure maturation| |response to organophosphorus| |cAMP-mediated signaling| |response to purine-containing compound| |cellular response to transforming growth factor beta stimulus| |cell maturation| |regulation of reproductive process| |response to transforming growth factor beta| |vascular process in circulatory system| |cyclic-nucleotide-mediated signaling| |regulation of nuclear division| |developmental maturation| |germ cell development| |second-messenger-mediated signaling| |cellular process involved in reproduction in multicellular organism| |blood circulation| |circulatory system process| |cellular response to growth factor stimulus| |negative regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of multi-organism process| |response to growth factor| |cellular response to organic cyclic compound| |positive regulation of cell development| |cellular response to organonitrogen compound| |cellular response to nitrogen compound| |developmental process involved in reproduction| |gamete generation| |regulation of cell cycle process| |regulation of multi-organism process| |multicellular organismal reproductive process| |sexual reproduction| |multicellular organism reproduction| |negative regulation of apoptotic process| |negative regulation of programmed cell death| |response to organic cyclic compound| |regulation of cell development| |positive regulation of cell differentiation| |multi-organism reproductive process| |negative regulation of cell death| |response to organonitrogen compound| |response to drug| |cellular response to oxygen-containing compound| |response to nitrogen compound| |regulation of cell cycle| |lipid metabolic process| |cellular response to endogenous stimulus| |negative regulation of signal transduction| |regulation of organelle organization| |G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathway| |negative regulation of cell communication| |negative regulation of signaling| |positive regulation of developmental process| |reproductive process| |reproduction| |response to endogenous stimulus| |regulation of apoptotic process| |response to oxygen-containing compound| |regulation of programmed cell death| |negative regulation of response to stimulus| |cell development| |regulation of cell death| |intracellular signal transduction| |positive regulation of multicellular organismal process| |regulation of cell differentiation| |regulation of intracellular signal transduction| |system process| \\ === CRISPR Data === ^Screen^Score^ |[[:results:exp135|MS023 7μM R03 exp135]]|-1.71| |[[:results:exp144|PFI-3 10μM R03 exp144]]|1.83| No correlation found to any other genes in chemogenomics.
